Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024. Signed on Dec. 6, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2022: 9%
Effective July 1, 2023: 3%
Shift premium: $2 per hour for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. (premium will not be paid for hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.).
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 1 2/3 days per month after 5 years, 2 1/12 days per month after 14 years, 2 1/2 days per month after 22 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for overtime worked on scheduled work day or on first day of rest. Double time for overtime worked after 4 hours of overtime on scheduled work day or for hours worked after employee’s normal daily hours of work on first day of rest. Double time for overtime worked on second or subsequent day of rest. May be taken as compensatory leave, maximum 15 days per year. $0.60 per kilometre (previously $0.50 per kilometre) for use of employee’s vehicle, maximum 60 kilometres each way or out-of-pocket expenses for other means of normal commercial transportation for employee who works overtime not contiguous to normal hours of work.
Meal allowance: $15, except where free meals are provided, for employee who works 3 or more hours of overtime immediately before or following normal hours of work. Additional $15 for each 4-hour period of overtime worked thereafter, except where free meals are provided.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: $350 maximum claim per 24-month period at 80% re-imbursement.
Sick leave: 1 1/4 days per month.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandchild, relative residing in employee’s household). 2 days for death of grandparent, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months from date of appointment for employees permanently appointed to position with employer outside bargaining unit represented by alliance or after layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ at applicable overtime rate. Employee who is called back to work and works 4 hours or more will receive 1 meal of $15, except when free meals are provided.
Probationary period: 6 months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for any document or written statement related to disciplinary action, up to written letter of reprimand; 2 years for any document or written statement related to disciplinary action more severe than letter of reprimand.
Severance: 2 week’s pay for first year of employment subsequent to Feb. 1, 1997; 1 week’s pay for each additional year of continuous employment thereafter.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide all required safety (protective) equipment, clothing, footwear. Employer will provide sunglasses for MDO’s, duty managers, electricians working airside.

Editor’s notes: First-aid training: Employer will assume costs of training employees designated as first-aid attendants. Employees selected for first-aid training will be granted time off with pay to attend courses. Relocation of workplace: $0.60 per kilometre if change in work location increases employee’s drive to work more than 10 additional kilometres in 1 direction. If change in work location increases employee’s travel time to work by more than 1 half-hour in 1 direction, additional time spent in transit will be treated as time worked. Bilingual positions: $800 for employees who occupy bilingual position and can demonstrate proficiency. Physical fitness allowance: $250 per year for activities that promote physical fitness (activities include membership at gym facility, pool complex, participation is organized sports or purchase of fitness equipment).
