Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on Dec. 5, 2018. Signed on March 8, 2019.

Shift premium: $2 per hour for grader operators for all work on Saturday or Sunday. $1 per hour for who work to supervise construction projects as finishing operators.

Paid holidays: 12 days, plus Ukrainian Christmas.

Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month after 1 year, 20 days after 8 years, 25 days after 16 years, 30 days after 21 years. Unused time will be paid out by June 30 of following year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 9 hours per day or 40 or 44 hours per week.

Medical benefits: Employer contributes $1.75 per hour worked (previously $1.45 per hour worked) into Operating Engineers Local 955 Health and Wellness Trust Fund. Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Plan.

Weekly indemnity: Provided by Operating Engineers Health and Wellness Trust Fund.

Sick leave: 2 days for every 191 hours worked, maximum 75 days.

Pension: Employer contributes 8% (previously 7%) into Operating Engineers Local 955 Pension Trust Fund.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of parent, spouse, common-law spouse, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild. 1 day for death of uncle, aunt, niece, nephew. 2 additional days when funeral requires extensive travel.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at regular rate.

Probationary period: 90 days worked or equivalent in hours.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years, unless instance of similar nature occurs since discipline, sunset clause is 3 years.

Safety shoes: $200 per year for boots and clothing.

Tool allowance: $500 per year for employee who provides own hand tools.
