Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.8%
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1.8%

Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for all hours worked on shifts other than normal day shift. $0.50 per hour on top of overtime rate for working on paid holidays.
Paid holidays: 12 days to start, 13 after completing probationary period.
Vacations with pay: 1 day for each month maximum 10 to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years (previously after 3 years), 4 weeks after 8 years (previously after 10 years), 5 weeks after 15 years (previously after 16 years), 6 weeks after 24 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 5 hours worked in excess of scheduled daily or weekly hours; first 5 hours on Saturday if not scheduled to work Saturday; first 5 hours worked on first and third days of scheduled days off and statutory holidays. Double time for any hours worked beyond 5 hours of overtime on work day, Saturday, or first and third days of scheduled days off; double time for all hours worked on Sunday if not scheduled to work, and second and fourth days of scheduled days off. Can be banked as time off up maximum 70 or 80 hours per year, whichever corresponds to employee’s normal weekly hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 0.25 day for each complete calendar week worked for seasonal/casual employees.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for maximum 17 weeks.
LTD: 75% gross monthly earnings up to age 65. Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
AD&D, Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System.
Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent. 3 paid days for death of sibling, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, foster-parent, foster-child, legal guardian. 1 paid day for death of sibling-in-law, child-in-law, aunt, uncle, great-grandparent.
Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours’ pay for emergency call-in after having left work, if able to report within 45 minutes if living within city boundaries or within 60 minutes if living outside city boundaries. 2 hours’ pay per day (3 hours on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays) for being on call.
Probationary period: 90 working days for salary classifications T1 to 3; 120 working days for salary classifications 4 and above.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer supplies required work clothing and equipment. High visibility clothing: Operational employees working outdoors receive 5 tops and 4 pair of pants per year; environment staff receive 5 tops, 2 pair of pants and 2 coveralls per year; fleet staff receive 3 tops and 4 coveralls per year; seasonal staff receive 5 tops and 3 pair of pants per year; casual staff receive 5 tops and 2 pair of pants per year; forestry staff receive 2 cut pants, 2 work pants and 5 tops per year plus 1 lineman’s jacket every 2 years. Uniform for enforcement staff, 5 collared tops for building inspection staff.
Mileage: $0.54 per kilometre (previously $0.52 per kilometre) when requested and authorized to use personal vehicles for employer business. $35 per month plus $0.329 per kilometre when use of personal care is condition of employment.
