Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Ratified in May 2019. Signed on Oct. 16, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 23, 2019: 2.3%
Effective May 1, 2020: 2.3%
Effective May 1, 2021: 2.3%
Shift premium: $1.95 for all work performed on regularly scheduled second or third shift in shop. $4.10 per hour for all work performed on shift starting after 4 p.m., rising to $4.15 on May 1, 2021 (previously $3.95 per hour). $3 per hour for working foremen.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: Employer pays $4.11 per hour rising 3 steps to $4.40 per hour for operators of shovels, backhoes, drag line, Gradall, clams. Employer pays $4.09 per hour rising 3 steps to $4.38 per hour for clam operator (yard), mechanic, welder A. Employer pays $4.07 per hour rising 3 steps to $4.36 per hour for pitman-type operator (hydra-lift, truck-mounted hydraulic cranes), bulldozer operators (D-4 equivalent or over), trim dozer operators (6-way blade). Employer pays $4.05 per hour rising 3 steps to $4.34 per hour for front-end loader operators (one cubic yard and over), scrapers self-propelled, mixer man on asphalt plant, concrete curb machine operator, asphalt spreader operator (self-propelled), vacuum excavators, off highway vehicles, shuttle buggy.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work in excess of 10 hours per day, 50 hours per week Monday to Friday; all hours on Saturdays. Double time for all hours on Sundays and statutory holidays.
Medical benefits/Pension: Employer will contribute $13.38 per hour (previously $13.18 per hour) to IUOE, Local 793 Members Life and Health Benefit Trust of Ontario and IUOE, Local 793 Members Pension Benefit Trust of Ontario. Effective May 1, 2021: $13.48 per hour.
Probationary period: 30 working days.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety helmets to employees at no cost. When employees perform duties in wet weather, employer will supply suitable protective clothing, including rubber boots.
Tool allowance: On projects where employer provides locked up facilities for employees to store tools, clothing, employer will reimburse employee maximum $225 for loss due to fire or theft resulting from break-in to facilities.
Mileage: $0.55 per kilometre 1 way for travel outside free travel zone (previously $0.53 per kilometre).

Clam operator (yard), mechanic, welder A: $42.67 rising 1 step to $43.76
Pitman-type operator, bulldozer operator (D-4 equivalent or over), trim dozer operator (6-way blade): $42.47 rising 1 step to $43.56
Front-end loader operators (one cubic yard and over), scrapers self-propelled, mixer man on asphalt plant, concrete curb machine operator, asphalt spreader operator (self-propelled), vacuum excavators, off highway vehicles, shuttle buggy: $42.33 rising 1 step to $43.42
Concrete paver operator, asphalt planer operator A, engineers on boilers (with papers): $42.23 rising 1 step to $43.32
Farm and industrial-type tractor with excavating attachments operator, grader operator B, asphalt roller man A, boiler fireman (without papers): $42.07 rising 1 step to $43.16
Roller operator (asphalt) B: $41.71 rising 1 step to $42.80
Bulldozer operator (under D-4 or equivalent), front-end loader operator (under one cubic yard), packer with blade: $41.63 rising 1 step to $42.72
Farm and industrial-type tractor operator (towing compaction units), grade roller man including self-propelled rubber-tired rollers, asphalt planer B (maximum 2 feet wide): $39.93 rising 1 step to $41.02
Working foreman: $3 per hour above applicable rate.
Editor’s notes: Reporting pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay if no work unless directed not to report previous day. Minimum 2 hours of pay when no work available due to inclement weather. Out-of-town allowance: $125 per day for operators required to be out of town overnight (previously $100 per day). Up to 7 days per week if more than 160 kilometres out of Toronto. Industry fund: Employer will pay $0.62 per hour to International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793 Training Fund.
