Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on Feb. 24, 2020. Signed on April 22, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 0%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1%

Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 1.25%

Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 1.5%

Shift premium: Double time for all hours in 1 shift, if 24 hours of notice of shift change not given. 10% or position rate when employee is assigned to higher paying position outside bargaining unit for more than 3 days, maximum 30 days. $1.15 per hour for lead-hands. $1.75 per hour for all hours worked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 11 days after probation, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 7 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 20 years. Employees must take minimum 2 weeks of vacation per year and may carry over annual allowance to following year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for first 6 hours of overtime per week, double time thereafter. Time may be banked, maximum 40 hours per year. May be taken as time off in lieu. All time not used will be paid out on last pay of year.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Employer will provide $200 per year for health spending account. Employer will provide $125 per year for health and wellness account.

Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $300 every 24 months (previously $100 per year).

Sick leave: 2 days to start. 1.5 days per month, maximum 18 days.

STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan after 1 year of employment.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (grandparent (grandparent, stepgrandparent), parent (biological parent, stepparent, parent of adopted child, legal guardian), sibling (sister, stepsister, brother, stepbrother), spouse (current spouse, common-law spouse), common-law spouse (any common-law relationships (including same-sex relationships) where couple has been co-habituating for minimum of 1 year), child (son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, foster-child, ward), ward (minor or adult under care of legal guardian), aunt/uncle (sibling of parent). 1) day without pay to attend funeral as pallbearer or mourner.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months when off employer’s payroll (during 12 and 24 months, employee’s seniority will be frozen and will not accumulate).

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 regular hours of pay or applicable overtime rate for time worked, whichever is greater.

Probationary period: First 6 months of employment (may be extended 1-time only for additional 6 months).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years (after 2 years has elapsed from disciplinary action, employee may request file be cleared on record of action).

Severance: 2 weeks’ at regular rate for position last occupied for each year of employment, maximum 26 weeks.

Safety shoes: $150 per year (previously $125 per year), after 6 months of employment. May be accumulated over 2-year period.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide suitable gloves to all employees who require them (will be replaced at discretion of department head). Employer will provide for 1 pair of winter, 1 pair of summer coveralls to every outside employee on as-required basis. Employees working in environments where identification is advantageous will be provided with T-shirts or jackets and hats. Animal control/bylaw enforcement officers will be provided uniforms by employer. Employer will provide rubber boots, rubber suits as required to all outside employees. Employer will ensure that smocks will be available to inside employees who are engaged in areas of workplace in which clothing may readily become soiled (photocopy room, computer room).
