Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025. Signed on Dec. 16, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective July 1, 2022: 3.24%
Effective July 1, 2023: 5.5%
Effective July 1, 2024: 2%
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: Prorated based on 22 days per year to start, 22 days after 2 years, 24 days after 6 years, 27 days after 11 years, 28 days after 16 years, 29 days after 21 years. Employee may carry over unused time, maximum 40 days. Any unused vacation of more than 40 days will be paid out each year.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.
Vision: $750 per person every 2 years. Coverage for eye examinations every 2 years, maximum $125.
Paramedical: $1,200 per person per year for massage therapy. $1,500 per person for clinical psychology/counselling. $1,200 per person per year for chiropractor and physiotherapy services.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month.
Pension: University of Victoria Combination Pension Plan.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Compensatory time off of 1 half-day plus amount equivalent to duration of callout.
Probationary period: 8 months. Employer may extend period, maximum 4 additional months.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for documentation of discipline imposed.
Severance: For first 12 years’ service: 1 month’s pay for each year of service. For 13th and subsequent years of service: 3 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 24 month’s pay.
