Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2022 to Oct. 31, 2025. Signed on Jan. 1, 2023.
Shift premium: $1 for every hour worked for drivers who have BTMR license when license is required. $3 for every hour worked in training capacity for drivers who — at employer’s instruction — train other drivers. $2 per hour for all hours worked after 6 p.m. and before 6 a.m. on workday.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 7 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 12 years.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums gold plus enhanced health and welfare plan, administered by CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund. $1,200 per year for health spending account. $1,200 per person per year for mental health coverage for employees and family.
Sick leave: 1 half-day per month, maximum 12 sick days.
Pension: Employer will contribute to employee RSP. $75 per month after 1 year; $150 per month after 2 years; $200 per month after 3 years; $350 per month after 4 years; $450 per month after 6 years; additional $150 per month after 9 years (employer will match employee contribution, maximum $150 per month once employee begins tenth year of employment).
Bereavement leave: 5 days (4 of which are paid if days are working days) for death in employee’s immediate family (employee’s spouse or legal common-law partner; employee’s father or mother or mother or father of employee’s spouse or legal common-law partner; children and children of employee’s spouse or legal common-law partner; grandchildren; brothers and sisters; grandfather and grandmother; any other person outlined as immediate family in Federal Labour Code).
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months after layoff; 18 months for absence due to non-work-related sickness or injury; 24 months for absence due to job-related sickness or injury.
Call-in pay: $75 for extra day worked, in addition to regular wages. $125 for emergency call-in (employee is eligible for call-in bonus or emergency call-in bonus, not both).
Probationary period: 60 working days.
Safety shoes: $250 per year or $500 every second year.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety vests, hard hats, gloves, fall-restraint harnesses as required.

Editor’s notes: Special hauls: 12 hours guaranteed pay for each working day; motel accommodation; $50 subsistence for each working day, when driver is based in city other than home terminal and can’t work regular hours due to slip seating or haul restrictions. Joint operational health and safety committee: $200 per month for committee work. Layovers: $100 Canadian daily layover. US$75 U.S. daily layover rate. Safety bonus: $0.50 per hour worked or $0.0135 per mile driven on quarterly basis to drivers who have not caused vehicle damage or cargo losses during 3-month period.
