Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024. Signed on Jan. 1, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 2.75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 2.5%
Effective Jan. 1, 2024: 2.5%
Shift premium: $1.75 per hour for work between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1.75 per hour for work between 00:01 a.m. on Saturday and midnight Sunday.
Paid holidays: 12 days, including National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 15 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 4 hours of work after regularly scheduled shift on scheduled day of work; for first 12 hours on day of rest. Double time after 4 hours of overtime or after 12 hours worked on day of rest.
Sick leave: 1.25 days per month, maximum accumulative credits of 250 days.
Pension: Employees will be enrolled into DC plan after 90-day service period. Employer will contribute 6%, employees will contribute 5% into plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, mother-in law, father-in-law, spouse (including common-law relationships), daughter, son, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, aunt, uncle, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, spouse’s grandparents, or equivalent relationship). Where major travel or special circumstances are involved, approval may be given to extend limit to 5 days.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay (employer and employee may agree to lesser amount for less than 4 hours worked).
Probationary period: 90 working days or 720 working hours of employment, whatever comes first.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 calendar months for all written disciplinary notices.
Severance: 2 weeks’ pay for each year of service, pro-rated for partial years.
Safety shoes: Maximum $275 per year (previously $225 per year).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide all PPE that is necessary to safely perform work, including hard hats, hearing protection, fall-protection equipment. Protective clothing will also be provided when necessary, including coveralls, winter wear, work gloves, high-visibility vest/clothing.
