Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 1, 2021 to July 31, 2026. Ratified on Aug. 14, 2021. Signed on Oct. 13, 2021. (First agreement)
Shift premium: $32.50 per period for completed instructional assistant non-pairing activity/duty period.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 4 years, 4 weeks after 7 years.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: Employees will receive initial allotment of 12 days upon ratification. Employees will accrue 1 day for each month, maximum 22 days in bank.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law partner, child of employee or spouse, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law. 3 days for death of grandparent, grandchild, sibling, relative residing with employee.
Seniority – recall rights: 3 years after layoffs. 24 months for employee transferred to term position not covered by agreement; 12 months for employee transferred to permanent position within inflight department not covered by agreement.
Probationary period: 9 months of active service beginning from first scheduled flight after final exam and line indoctrination flight (employer may extend period, maximum 3 months). If employee is absent for more than 14 days during probationary period, employer may extend period by equivalent number of days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary documents.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide initial uniform for new-hire employees upon successful completion of initial training program. On Jan. 1, employer will provide $350 to each active employee each year. Unused credits will carry over, maximum $775. Employer will provided $35 monthly uniform maintenance allowance.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 5.6% increase):
Step 1 start rate: $26.94 rising 3 steps to $28.45
Step 2 completed year 1: $28.15 rising 3 steps to $29.73
Step 3 completed year 2: $29.42 rising 3 steps to $31.07
Step 4 completed year 3: $30.74 rising 3 steps to $32.46
Step 5 completed year 4: $32.12 rising 3 steps to $33.92
Editor’s notes: Damages owed to employer: $250 for cabin-crew device; $100 for device protective case; $75 for payment device if company-assigned equipment is lost or damaged beyond repair. Passport/visa: Employer will reimburse employee for cost of replacement passport and passport photos once every 10 years for 10-year passport.
