Renewal agreement: Effective June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2022. Ratified on Feb. 5, 2019. Signed on Feb. 5, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective June 1, 2019: 2.75%
Effective June 1, 2020: 2.75%
Effective June 1, 2021: 2.75%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for all hours worked from midnight until 8 a.m. $2 per hour for employees required to substitute for supervisors. $1 per hour for employees required to function as lead-hand.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 7 years. Vacation may be carried over from 1 year to next provided time is taken before March 31.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $350 per person which includes cost of eye examinations.
Sick leave: 32 hours per year, which may be taken in 2-hour increments.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: Employer will contribute to voluntary group RRSP on basis that matches employee’s contribution of 2% of base bay. Employees may make additional voluntary unmatched contributions to RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days in province (4 days out of province) for death of spouse, common-law spouse, same-sex spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, stepbrother, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchild, any other person who was acting in loco parentis.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs.
Probationary period: 6 months or 75 shifts, whichever comes sooner.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for any adverse report of punitive nature; 12 months for any letter of expectation.
Severance: 1 weeks’ pay per year of service.

Editor’s notes: Special leave: Special-leave provisions will be without pay: 2 days for marriage of employee; 1 day for moving household effects; 1 day for Canadian citizenship hearings (provided employee provides 2 weeks notice of any requested leave). Annual flu shot: Employees will be entitled to voluntarily receive annual flu shot with employer covering cost of shot. On-call seniority: On-call employee who accrues minimum of 500 working hours (accumulated on straight-time basis) will become seniority rated on-call employee with seniority thereafter equivalent to hours worked.
