Ford Canada makes 'POST Promise'

Joining a growing group of companies, Ford Canada has made the “POST Promise” to help protect Canadians as they return to public spaces and workplaces.

"The POST Promise Program reinforces Ford of Canada's belief that the health and safety of our employees and customers comes first," says Jim Hartford, vice president of marketing and sales at Ford of Canada.

The company has joined the initiative as a founding partner and participating dealers will display the POST Promise logo throughout their stores.

"By taking a leadership role with this critical initiative, Ford is demonstrating its unyielding commitment to keeping its customers and staff safe during this unsettling time, as well as being a good corporate citizen for the sake of all Canadians,” says Laura Hearn, president and executive director of the POST Promise.

Launched in June, the POST Promise is a voluntary commitment that business owners and managers can make by following five key public health actions meant to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • Maintaining physical distance.
  • Washing and sanitizing hands.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting regularly.
  • Staying home if unwell and self-monitoring for symptoms.
  • Practising respiratory etiquette (including wearing a mask when physical distancing is difficult).

"Getting the economy back on track safely and responsibly requires the joint efforts of government and the private sector and we applaud all businesses that are doing their part to let Canadians know they can confidently return to public spaces and help support their local economies," says Goldy Hyder, president and CEO of the Business Council of Canada and POST Promise board member.

Thousands of businesses across Canada have already made commitments to the platform, including the Women’s Executive Network, Cadillac Fairview, Labatt Breweries, Nitro Music and the PCL family of companies. The federal government partnered with POST Promise in June.
