Renewal agreement: Effective March 24, 2021 to March 23, 2026. Signed on Sept. 24, 2021 .
Wage adjustments:
Effective March 24, 2023: 2.5%
Effective March 24, 2024: 2.5%
Effective March 24, 2025: 3.5%
Shift premium: $0.25 per hour for employee who possesses valid level 1 first-aid certificate and acts as designated first-aid attendant on any shift. $0.75 per hour for employee who works graveyard shift (any shift commencing between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.).
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 13 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours of work after regular scheduled hours for 1 day; double time thereafter. Time and one-half for work after 40 hours in 1 week; double time after 8 hours of overtime.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 90% of premiums, employee pays 10% of premiums.
Dental: Reimbursement: 80% for basic services; 50% for major services.
Vision: Coverage of $250 every 24 months.
STD: Coverage of 66 2/3% of weekly earnings, maximum $445.
LTD: Coverage of 66 2/3% of monthly earnings, maximum $2,500.
AD&D: Coverage of $25,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $25,000.
Pension: Employer will match employee contributions, maximum 2% per month, to self-directed group RRSP.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, children, brothers, sisters, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, parents-in-law).
Seniority – recall rights: 90 days for employee transferred to position outside bargaining unit. 6 months after layoff to start; 15 months after layoff after 1 year of service.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay at straight-time rates or overtime rates for all hours worked, whichever is greater.
Probationary period: 4 consecutive months or 60 shifts from date of hire, whichever occurs first.
Severance: 2 weeks of pay for employees with 1 year of employment. Thereafter, employees will receive 1 additional week of pay for each year of service, maximum 10 weeks of pay.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide adequate protective devices (excluding safety shoes) deemed necessary to protect employees from injuries arising from employment. Employer will supply and maintain adequate number of properly fitted uniform articles (shirts, blouses, sweaters, trousers, slacks, ties, tie pins) for each employee. Each employee will be reimbursed $0.15 per each hour worked for cost of cleaning uniforms. Employer will supply protective rain wear for those employees who work in inclement weather.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 8.7% increase):
Lot foreman: $21.60 rising 3 steps to $23.48
Bus driver: $20.17 rising 3 steps to $21.93
Relief bus driver: $18.34 rising 3 steps to $19.94
Cashier: $18.16 rising 3 steps to $19.75
Jockey: $17.26 rising 3 steps to $18.76
Car wash: $17.61 rising 3 steps to $19.15
Customer service: $17.26 rising 3 steps to $18.76
Lump sum: From March 24, 2022 to March 24, 2023 employees will receive $0.40 for every straight-time hour worked.
Editor’s notes: Personal days: On Jan. 1 of each year of employment, employee will be given 2 personal days with pay.
