Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022. Signed on March 2, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Sept. 1, 2020: 2%

Effective Sept. 1, 2021: 2%

Shift premium: Time and one-half for all hours worked within 12 hours if employee receives less than 24 hours’ notice when employer changes work schedules. $0.40 per hour for employees who have shifts commencing between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Paid holidays: 9 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of scheduled hours of work. Employees may bank overtime hours, maximum 80 hours per year.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (defined in Section 33 (1) of Canada Labour Standards Regulations). Additional 7 days may be given, without pay, to facilitate employee for travel arrangements if death occurred outside of province or country.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 3 months for employee who is transferred to position outside bargaining unit.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for discipline letters.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply 3 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 blazers, 2 scarfs or ties per year, after probationary period ends (one-half allocation will be provide for probationary employees). Employer will replaced any items damaged due to reasonable wear and tear within 1 year of issue. Clean, maintained common rain gear and ear protection will be available for employees assigned to work outside. Failure to report to work in full company uniform will result in disciplinary action.

Editor’s notes: Doctor’s notes: If employer requests doctor’s note from employee to substantiate any absence, employer will reimburse employee provided employee presents receipt of payment from doctor. Personal emergency leave: Employees will be entitled to 5 personal emergency leave days per year (3 days will be paid; 2 will be unpaid).
