Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, April 30, 2020. Signed on April 15, 2016.

Wage adjustments: 
Effective November 2017, 2018, 2019: 
If oil price less than $65: $0 
If oil price is between $65 and $85: one-half of CPI change multiplied by the journeyperson gross wage rate
If oil price is between $85 and $105: one-half of CPI change and 0.5%, multiplied by the journeyperson gross wage rate
If oil price is greater than $105: one-half of CPI change and 1%, multiplied by the journeyperson gross wage rate
Effective May 2017, 2018, 2019: 
If oil price less than $65: $0 
If oil price is between $65 and $85: one-half of CPI change multiplied by group 4 average wage
If oil price is between $85 and $105: one-half of CPI change and 0.5%, multiplied by by group 4 average wage
If oil price is greater than $105: one-half of CPI change and 1%, multiplied by group 4 average wage
(Maximum yearly wage adjustments: 3%)

Shift premium: Foreman/acting foreman: $4.50 per hour. $3 per hour for work between 6:30 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Paid holidays: 11 days. 

Vacations with pay: 6% of gross earnings for vacation pay; 4% for statutory holiday pay. 

Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked after 40 hours per week. Double time thereafter. Double time for work on a statutory holiday.

Meal allowance: If working more than 2 hours of overtime, and every 4 hours thereafter, employer provides hot meal or $25 if no meal is feasible.

Medical benefits: O.P.C.M.I.A. Health & Welfare Plan of Alberta.

Pension: O.P.C.M.I.A. Pension Plan of Alberta.

Probationary period: 1 month. 

Uniforms/clothing: Fully supplied by the employer.

Tool allowance: Employees shall be issued: 2 trowels, channel lock cutters, 2 pair side cutters (snips), float, hawk, hammer, 1 pair end cutters (nips), tool belt, margin trowel, lockable tool box and lock, 25 foot tape measure, knee pads.

Sample rates of pay (current):
Journeyperson: $49.04
Third-year apprentice (80% of journeyperson base wage): $39.31
Second-year apprentice (67.5% of journeyperson base wage): $32.86
First-year apprentice (55% of journeyperson base wage): $27.09
Trainee (45% of journeyperson base wage): $21.39

Editor’s notes: Alcohol/drug work rule: Employee shall not report to work with an alcohol level equal to or in excess of 0.04 grams per 210 litres of breath or drug level set out in Canadian model. Layoff notice: When employee is laid off or discharged, 1 hour’s notice shall be sufficient. 1 hour’s pay may be given in lieu of notice. Training fund: $0.30 per hour for the plasterers’ apprenticeship training fund.
