Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 1, 2020 to July 31, 2024. Ratified on Aug. 6, 2020. Signed on Aug. 6, 2020.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Aug. 4, 2020: 1.25%
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for all hours worked by bulk drivers whose shifts commence after 6 p.m. and before midnight; $1.25 per hour for all hours worked after 6 p.m. for bulk drivers whose shifts commence prior to 6 p.m. for all hours worked after 6 p.m. $1.25 per hour for bulk drivers whose shift is both farm pick up and performed utilizing super B trailer. $2.25 per hour for lead-hands in recognition of additional responsibilities to take direction from route foremen (train, relieve, related administration) and oversee activities of specific work group.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day for each 23 works worked, maximum 80 hours, to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 4 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 11 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 16 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of regular scheduled hours per day or work cycle. Employees may bank hours, maximum 100 hours per year.
Meal allowance: $15 for employee who works more than 2 hours after 10-hour shift is done; $10 for employee who begins work more than 1 hour or more before scheduled shift time. $15 for employee who lays over or employees who are scheduled for 12.5-hour shift and who work overtime beyond regular shift.
Vision: $300 every 24 months (inclusive of laser eye surgery which is double vision care benefit once per lifetime) and $100 for eye examinations every 24 months.
STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% of employee’s regular earnings.
Pension: Employer will contribute 10% of total hours worked (previously 9% of total hours worked) to Teamster Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, parents, child, grandchild, brother, sister, grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepmother, stepfather, stepbrother, stepsister, aunt, uncle).
Seniority – recall rights: 9 months after layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at time and one-half employee’s rate of pay.
Probationary period: 90 days on payroll.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 20 weeks.
Safety shoes: $200 per year for CSA-approved work boots.
Uniforms/clothing: After probation, employees will receive jacket, 4 shirts, 3 pairs of pants, ball cap, outer jacket.
