Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 25, 2022 to Dec. 31, 2024. Signed on Dec. 6, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective May 1, 2022: 1%
Effective May 1, 2023: 1%

Shift premium: $6.19 per hour for temp crew chief. $3.09 per hour for lead-hands. $1.23 per hour for endorsement. $1.23 per hour for additional Red Seal (multiple). $1.23 per hour for S rating. $1.23 per hour for EDDY/UT.
Paid holidays: 12 days including, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Terry Fox Day.
Vacations with pay: 3 weeks (120 hours) after 1 year, 4 weeks (160 hours) after 11 years, 5 weeks (200 hours) after 26 years. Unused vacation is non-cumulative and will not be earned over to subsequent year except maximum 40 hours’ unused vacation may be carried over to subsequent year provided that hours must be used within first 2 months of subsequent year.
Overtime: Time and one-half. Time may be banked, maximum 80 hours.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Dental: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 4 days per year credited into sick bank on Jan. 1 of each year. Unused sick days may be accumulated and carried forward to next year, maximum 16 sick days in sick bank at any time. Unused days that would result in employee having more than 16 sick days in sick bank at any time will be immediately forfeited.
Life insurance: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Pension: All maintenance employees will automatically be enrolled by in employer’s matching RRSP after 1 year of service. Employer will contribute matching 5% of contributions; 6% after 10 years of service.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, employee’s child (including miscarriage or still birth), parents of employee or employee’s spouse, sister, brother, grandparents, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives residing in employee’s home).
Seniority – recall rights: 9 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Greater of actual time worked or 3 hours at regular rate of pay.
Probationary period: 6 months of active employment at work.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for material not related to technical competency.
Safety shoes: $400 once each year for employee in classification of engineer, apprentice or GSE for CSA safety shoes, winter boots, tooling or PPE. $300 once each year for employee in stores department and classification of groomer.
Uniforms/clothing: Company uniform for employees who are engineers, apprentices, groomers or GSEs: 1 pair arctic ski pants (Carhart winter bibs); 1 winter coat; 4 combined outfits; 2 sweaters; 1 alliance ball cap; 1 winter hat (toque); winter gloves. Uniform for employees who are supervisors, shipper receiver/stores clerk 1, shipper receiver/stores clerk 2 or shipper receiver/stores clerk 3: 1 winter coat; winter gloves. Employer will pay 100% of cost of uniforms for employees who are engineers, apprentices, groomers or GSE, and uniforms will have useful life of 2 years. Any costs associated with required alterations to uniform will be at employer’s expense, maximum $15 per uniform piece.

Editor’s notes: Standby: 3 hours’ at regular rate of pay for every 12-hour period on standby. Training courses: All reasonable expenses incurred on employer-sponsored training courses will be paid by employer. Employer will pay cost of employee’s AME license, examination as per Transport Canada fee schedule. Per diems: Employees are entitled to $94 per day for any work-related assignment away from main base. When overnight occurs outside of Canada, per diem will be paid in U.S. dollars or local currency, whichever is greater. Loyalty pay: $1(one) per hour for every 5 years of service, maximum $4 per hour.
