Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2020 to Feb. 29, 2024. Ratified on Dec. 22, 2020 . Signed on April 15, 2021.
Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for all hours worked during any shift where majority of scheduled hours are between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Effective March 1 . 2023: $0.75 per hour. $1 per hour for all hours worked during any shift where majority of scheduled hours are between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Effective March 1 . 2023: $1.50 per hour. $1 per hour for team leads.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: Time accrued or 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years. Vacations are not cumulative from year to year and all vacations must be taken by Dec. 31 of vacation year unless employee, employer mutually agree to roll over maximum 5 days to next year. Rolled over vacation days must be taken within 90 days of end of year in which they were earned.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all authorized time worked in excess of 8 hours per day (inclusive of unpaid lunch) or 80 hours per pay period.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Sick leave: One-half day every 200 hours of service maximum 5 days per year and accumulative to maximum of 10 days (after completion of probationary period).
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, son, daughter, mother, father, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepparent, grandparents, grandchildren, stepchildren, legal guardian). Additional leave of maximum 1 working day to travel to and from funeral (if employee is traveling 450 or more kilometres 1-way).
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for absence due to illness or other physical disability and there is no reasonable likelihood employee will return to work within near future. 12 months for layoffs. 90 days for employee who accepts permanent position outside bargaining unit. 18 months for employee who accepts temporary transfer outside bargaining unit.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at regular hourly earnings (overtime clause will apply to all hours worked).
Probationary period: 450 hours worked. May be extended by additional 150 hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary records.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply: use of jacket or apron provided by employer for cooks; 2 tops, 2 times per year for housekeepers (1 top, 2 times per year for part-time); use of apron and ties provided by employer for servers.
Mileage: $0.52 per kilometre for distance traveled on employer business.

Editor’s notes: Courses, seminars, conferences: Employees required to attend in-service training on regularly scheduled days off will receive minimum 3 hours’ pay at regular basic hourly rate. Employer will pay tuition fees and approved expenses.
