Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on Feb. 20, 2021. Signed on April 21, 2021.

Shift premium: $10 if working in positions falling within plant schedule, or $8.63 if working in positions falling within office schedule for employee temporarily assigned for 1 or more working days, to position of (or to perform major portion of) higher classification. $25.90 per day for employee who accepts to temporarily relieve in supervisory position for 1 or more full days.

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 15 days to start, 20 days after 8 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 24 years.

Overtime: Double time for all work after 7.5 or 8 hours per day or 37.5 or 40 hours per week. Employees will be allowed to bank overtime up to maximum of 8 regular working days each year from Jan. 1 to end of 24th pay period. All overtime earned during 25th and 26th pay periods is not bankable and will be paid out as overtime.

Meal allowance: Employees working more than 2 hours after end of normal day’s work (and at 4-hour intervals thereafter) will be supplied with meal or compensated for meal purchased up to maximum of current dinner rate ($23).

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: Maximum 10 days for death of spouse, child, stepchild, mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, grandchild, stepgrandchild. 5 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, spouse’s grandmother, spouse’s grandfather, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, cousin, niece, nephew. Additional 2 days time will be allowed for travelling more than 300 kilometres 1-way to attend funeral or memorial service.

Seniority – recall rights: Period equivalent to employee’s number of completed months of service with employer, maximum 12 months, whichever is lesser.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate or pay for actual hours worked at applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater. All call-ins beginning after 10 p.m. and before 5:30 a.m. will be paid minimum of 2.5 hours’ pay at applicable overtime rate or for actual hours worked at applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater. Employee called in to work results in employee working between midnight and 5:30 a.m. will not be required to work scheduled day shift without 9 continuous hours off job.

Probationary period: 120 working days for technician trainee distribution operations, technician distribution operations, technician construction and maintenance, lead construction and maintenance, technician special projects crew, lead special projects crew; 80 working days for all other new employees. Casual employee will become casual in-scope employee when employee has worked more than 1,040 hours in any consecutive 12-month period as plant employee or worked more than 975 hours in any consecutive 12-month period as office employee.

Severance: 2 weeks of pay plus 2 weeks of severance pay for each year of service, not including recall period, maximum 56 weeks with minimum of 1 year of actual time worked.

Safety shoes: Maximum $300 per year for approved footwear, Bama socks, insoles.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will pay 100% of purchase and costs for: parkas, coveralls (winter and summer); smocks including all portions of uniforms which require dry-cleaning.

Editor’s notes: Personal paid days: Employees will be entitled to 6 personal paid days off per calendar year. There will be no carry-over of unused personal paid days from 1 year to next; there will be no monetary payment for any unused personal paid days. Visitations: For each dependent child who accompanies employee during visitation, employee will be reimbursed for meals purchased: $7 for breakfast; $10 for lunch; $13 for dinner. Standby allowance: Employees who provide standby coverage will receive: $39.62 for each normal day; $102.24 for each scheduled day of rest, recognized holiday, corporate day off. Effective Jan. 1, 202: $40.41 for each normal day; $104.29 for each scheduled day of rest, recognized holiday, corporate day off. If duty is extended beyond 7 consecutive days, premium will be paid: $10.14 each day for days 8 to 14; for days 15 and beyond: $16.46 per day. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $10.34 each day for days 8 to 14 inclusive; for days 15 and beyond: $16.79 per day. Board and lodging: Employees will be reimbursed for meals while lodging away from home: $12.76 for breakfast; $15.58 for lunch; $23 for dinner; $8 for incidental overnight stay. Prescription safety glasses: Reimbursable at 100%, maximum $350 per employee every 24 consecutive months. Paid education leave: Employer will contribute $5,000 per year over term of agreement to Unifor paid education leave program.
