Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. Ratified in May 2019. Signed on July 4, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Oct. 1, 2019: 2%

Effective May 1, 2020: 2%

Effective May 1, 2021: 2.1%

Shift premium: 8 hours’ pay for 7-hour shift between hours of 4 p.m. and 5 a.m. $1.50 per hour for work performed from swing stage or bosun chair. $2 per hour for charge-hand where 5 or more employees are employed. $2.50 per hour for lead-hand where 4 employees are employed.

Paid holidays: 10 days.

Vacations with pay: 10% of each paycheque.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work performed in excess of normal daily hours. Double time for work performed on Sundays and statutory holidays. Time and one-half for first 2 hours of work on construction work in excess of normal daily hours and double time after that.

Medical benefits: Employer contributes $3.48 per hour (previously $3.33 per hour) to International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Province of Ontario Health and Welfare Fund. Effective May 1, 2021: $3.58 per hour

Pension: Employer contributes $4.15 per hour (previously $4 per hour) to International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, Province of Ontario Pension Trust Fund and International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Union and Industry Pension Plan (Canada).

Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre for employees using own car at employer’s request (previously $0.54 per kilometre).

Toronto, Halton, Simcoe, Muskoka, Ajax, Pickering, Whitby: $40.84 rising 1 step to $41.89

Hamilton, Niagara: $36.68 rising 1 step to $37.50

Kitchener-Waterloo: $33.88 rising 1 step to $34.66

Chatham: $34.42 rising 1 step to $35.21

London/Sarnia: $34.83 rising 1 step to $35.63

Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie: $32.15 rising 1 step to $32.92

Thunder Bay: $33.86 rising 1 step to $34.64

Windsor: $34.42 rising 1 step to $35.21

Registered apprentices

First 1,000 hours: 50%

Second 1,000 hours: 55%

Third 1,000 hours: 60%

Fourth 1,000 hours: 65%

Fifth 1,000 hours: 70%

Sixth 1,000 hours: 75%

Seventh 1,000 hours: 80%

Eighth 1,000 hours: 85%

Editor’s notes: Overnight stays: When employees are required to remain overnight out of town: $11 for breakfast, $15 for lunch, $24 for dinner. Industry fund: Each employer covered by agreement will contribute $0.27 per hour (previously $0.25 per hour) for every hour worked by each employee to industry fund. Drug treatment facility: Employer, on behalf of each employee, will make contribution of $0.02 per hour to De Novo drug and treatment facility. Apprenticeship Education Fund (AEF): Employer will deduct $1 per hour from each new apprentice registered in Architectural Glass and Metal Technician Apprenticeship Program.
