Renewal agreement: Effective June 21, 2021 to June 20, 2024. Signed on Oct. 28, 2021.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for journeyman reefer tech who completes 2-week Thermos King course. $1.53 per hour for truck shop employees who hold truck safety certification. $1.02 per hour for employees who work on mobile service truck. $0.75 per hour for all weekday hours worked on afternoon shift between 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. $0.90 per hour for all hours worked on weekend. $1 per hour for all hours worked on midnight shift after 11 p.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days, including Terry Fox Day and Truth and Reconciliation Day.
Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years for all employees hired before Jan. 1, 2013. 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years for all employees hired after Jan. 1, 2013.
Overtime: Time and one-half after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Employees who work on scheduled day of rest will be paid time and one-half for first 4 hours worked; double time for all hours after 4 hours of overtime. Time may be accumulated, maximum 30 hours. May be taken as time off but all accumulated time not taken by end of first pay period of November will be paid out.
Meal allowance: $7 for employee who works more than 2 hours of overtime continuous with regular shift on less than 24 hours’ advance notice.
Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Sick leave: 3 days per year (unused days cannot be carried over into subsequent year).
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, children, common-law spouse, stepchildren, stepparent, grandparents, grandchildren). Day of funeral for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in law.
Seniority – recall rights: 18 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Time and one-half for all hours worked on recall up to starting time of scheduled shift, minimum 4 hours of pay.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary warnings.
Severance: 1 week’s pay for each year of service, maximum 10 weeks, at rate of pay employee was receiving on termination for employees with 2 years of service.
Safety shoes: Employer will provide voucher valued at $170 (previously $140 once every 365 days) to all employees once every 365 days for CSA-approved safety boots.
Tool allowance: $435 per year (previously $425 per year). Effective June 21, 2023: $445 per year. Employees may use funds to purchase snowsuits.
