Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2022. Signed on May 29, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.75%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.25%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 2.5%

Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 3%

Paid holidays: 10 days plus 1 additional day in each year that is recognized to be provincial or civic holiday in area in which employee is employed or in any area where no such additional day is recognized as provincial or civic holiday, first Monday in August.

Vacations with pay: 10 hours per month to start, 13.33 per month after 8 years, 16.66 hours per month after 15 years, 20 hours per month after 20 years. Unused portion of leave may be carried over into following vacation year or any portion of unused leave on Dec. 31 will be paid off in cash.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 40 hours per week for dispatchers, deckhands.

Meal allowance: $18 after 3 hours of overtime, $18 for each additional 4 hours of overtime.

Medical benefits: Public Service Health Care Plan.

Sick leave: 10 hours for each month worked.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse (resident with employee), child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, relative permanently residing in employee’s household). 2 days for death of employee’s grandparent. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, aunt, uncle. Additional 3 days for travel may be given.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months when employee is transferred or promoted to position which is excluded from bargaining unit or when employee is laid off.

Call-in pay: Greater of compensation at applicable overtime rate or compensation equivalent to 6 hours of pay at straight-time rate for any time worked, provided that period worked is not contiguous to employee’s scheduled shift.

Probationary period: 6 months (may be extended for further period not to exceed 6 additional months).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any disciplinary actions.

Severance: On first layoff, 2 weeks’ pay for first year of employment; 3 weeks’ pay for employees with 10 years of employment; 4 weeks’ pay for employees with 20 years of employment; plus 1 week’s pay for each additional year of employment, maximum 28 weeks’ pay. On second and subsequent layoff, 1 week’s pay for each year of employment, maximum 27 weeks’ pay.

Safety shoes: $150 per year (previously $225 per year), plus applicable taxes, for CSA-approved safety footwear. Employer will provide 1 pair CSA-approved rubber boots.

Uniforms/clothing: $550 per year (previously $500 per year) for work clothing for deckhands. Employer will provide 1 Transport Canada approved flotation coat (flame orange or red) or inflatable PFD; 1 pair of CSA-approved safety footwear suitable for wearing on duty; 1 set of raingear (high visibility as defined by ANSI or equivalent); 1 pair of thermal coveralls. Employer will provide deckhands with CSA-approved safety sunglasses of employer’s selection upon request from employee. Dispatcher will be reimbursed $380 per year (previously $350 per year), plus applicable taxes, for wearing apparel (dispatchers and accounts clerk dispatcher will be reimbursed for appropriate anti-glare eyewear under this allowance).

Up to 1 year: $55,686 rising 1 step to $57,357

1 to 2 years: $56,883 rising 1 step to $58,590

4 years: $58,107 rising 1 step to $59,850

More than 4 years: $59,358 rising 1 step to $61,139

More than 5 years: $60,638 rising 1 step to $62,458

More than 10 years: $61,956 rising 1 step to $63,815

Cher 12 years: $63,285 rising 1 step to $65,184

More than 15 years: $64,616 rising 1 step to $66,554

Editor’s notes: Loss of clothing or personal effects: $850 (previously $750) reimbursement when employee suffers loss of clothing or personal effects because of marine disaster, shipwreck, work-related incident. Social justice fund: Employer will submit 1-time payment of $325 to PSAC social justice fund. Fitness: Employer will pay for fitness membership or sports club, maximum 50%) of cost, maximum $325 per year.
