Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022. Ratified in October 2019. Signed on March 3, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

(Employees hired prior to Oct. 27, 2004)

Effective Sept. 1, 2019: $0.60 per hour

Effective Sept. 1, 2020: $0.60 per hour

Effective Sept. 1, 2021: $0.60 per hour

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for all hours worked if 50% or more of hours in shift are past 10 p.m. $2 per hour above 24-month rate for foreman. $1.25 per hour for lead agents and lead shuttlers. $0.60 per hour for off-airport service agents. $1 per hour for employees assigned as lead on shift. $1 per hour for employees in preferred-select and go-agent job classifications.

Paid holidays: 12 days, including 2 floater days. Employees will be allowed to carry over 1 of 2 floater days to next calendar year, maximum 4 floater days per year, including current year allotment.

Vacations with pay: 1 weeks after 6 months, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years. 1 additional day after 23 years (previously none).

Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of regular working day (8 or 10 hours) or basic workweek (40 hours) and all hours worked on paid holidays.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 80%, employees pay 20% of plan premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 80%, employees pay 20% of plan premiums. Combined maximum of $1,200 per person per calendar year for preventive, basic and major services.

Vision: Employer pays 50%, employees pay 50% of plan premiums. Covers 1 pair of glasses or contact lenses and eye exam each 24 months maximum $350 reimbursement

Sick leave: 1 day for each month of employment, maximum 10 days per year, after 3 months of employment. Unused days will be paid out at time and one-half at end of year. Double-time if perfect attendance (10 unused days).

STD: Employer pays 50%, employees pay 50% of plan premiums.

LTD: Employer pays 50%, employees pay 50% of plan premiums.

AD&D: Employer pays 50%, employees pay 50% of plan premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for plan for employees, spouses and dependants.

Pension: Employer pays 50%, employees pay 50% of plan premiums.

Bereavement leave: Full-time employees: 5 paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, sibling. 3 paid days for death of current parent-in-law. 2 paid days for death of grandparent. 1 paid day for death of current sibling-in-law, current child-in-law. Part-time employees: 3 paid days for death of spouse, parent, child, sibling.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Severance: In accordance with Employment Standards Act.

Safety shoes: $90 per year reimbursement for shoes which meet company dress code. $125 per year reimbursement for safety shoes for full-time service agents, rapid return agents, select and go agents, shuttlers. $80 for part-timers. If golf shirts and shorts are part of uniform policy, company will provide them.

Uniforms/clothing: Employees who are given uniforms requiring dry cleaning receive up to $45 per month for full-time employees and $22 per month for part-time employees. Special clothing, such as raincoats and parkas, will be supplied and maintained by employer.

Sample rates of pay (current, after increase):

RSA/S&G: $15.50 to start rising 5 steps to $18

RRA: $15.25 to start rising 5 steps to $17.75

SA: $15 to start rising 5 steps to $17.50

Shuttler: $14.50 to start rising 5 steps to $16.30

After employees reach top of grid (48 months), they receive increase listed for next effective contract anniversary date:

Effective Sept. 1, 2019: $0.50 per hour

Effective March 1, 2020: $0.20 per hour

Effective Sept. 1, 2020: $0.50 per hour

Effective March 1, 2021: $0.20 per hour

Effective Sept. 1, 2021: $0.50 per hour

Effective March 1, 2022: $0.20 per hour

Editor’s notes: Medical notes: For absence of 2 consecutive days or more, employee may be required to provide doctor’s certificate for further absences of any duration. Employer will reimburse employee if there is charge by doctor for medical certificate, maximum $20. Training fund: Employer will contribute to UFCW, Local 175 Education and Training Fund: $1,500 on ratification; $1,500 in second year; $1,500 in third year.
