Renewal agreement: Effective first Sunday of May 2022 to April 30, 2025. Signed on April 27, 2022.
Wage adjustments:
Effective first Sunday of May 2023: 2.5%
Effective first Sunday of May 2024: 2.5%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for all hours worked as chief job steward (premium does not attract overtime). $1.50 per hour for lead hands. $1 per hour, on straight-time basis, for all hours worked for employees who provide training to other employees.
Paid holidays: 11 days plus 4% of straight-time rate for all hours worked.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 5 years plus 6% of straight-time rate for all hours worked.
Overtime: Paid at time and one-half for work after 8 hours in 1 day or 40 hours in 1 week.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.75 per hour to Operating Engineers Local 955 Health and Wellness Trust Fund. Effective first Sunday of May 2023: $1.80 per hour. Effective first Sunday of May 2024: $1.85 per hour.
Pension: Employer will contribute 10% to Operating Engineers Local 955 Pension Trust Fund.
Bereavement leave: Maximum 36 regularly scheduled hours for death in employee’s immediate family (mother, father, brother, sister, spouse, common-law partner (regardless of gender), children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents).
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at applicable rate.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days. Employees rehired within 24 months will not be required to serve additional probationary period.
Safety shoes: $0.10 per hour for all hours worked, maximum $225 per year.
Uniforms/clothing: Rainwear will be supplied by employer when employee works in rain. Employer will reimburse non-probationary employees, maximum $250 per year, for replacement of approved PPE/cold-weather gear. When work conditions dictate, groundworkers will be supplied with gloves and coveralls, as well as clothes locker.
Mileage: $0.49 per kilometre if employee uses own vehicle, at request of employer, on projects where client provides daily bussing service from Fort McMurray to project site.
