Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2021 to Feb. 28, 2023. Signed on June 28, 2021.

Shift premium: 6% of compulsory trade journeyman rate for lead-hands. 14% of compulsory trade journeyman rate for foreman. 25% of compulsory trade journeyman rate for general foreman. $2.25 per hour (majority of shift hours between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.) for night shift. $1 per hour (2 Alberta or Red Seal JM tickets in applicable trades) for dual ticket. $5 per hour for all hours worked using specialty alloys for alloy welder. $0.20 per 10 tonnes over 66 tonnes as crane premium. $1 per hour for steward. $1.25 per hour for steward w/ toolbox 1. $1.50 per hour for steward w/ toolbox 2. $2 per hour for steward w/ toolbox 3. $2.25 per hour for chief steward w/ TB1. $2.50 per hour for chief steward w/ TB2. $3 per hour for chief steward w/ TB3.

Paid holidays: Employees will be paid 4% of base wage rate for all hours worked as holiday pay in lieu of following general holidays: New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, August civic holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, any further days proclaimed by provincial government.

Vacations with pay: 6% of base wage rate for all hours worked as vacation pay. Employer will consider vacations at times requested, subject to business requirements; requests will not be unreasonably denied.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 8 regular straight-time hours per day and 40 regular straight-time hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked on regularly scheduled day off.

Meal allowance: One half-hour paid meal period and 1 meal will be provided by employer for employees who work beyond 12 hours in 1 day.

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2.08 per hour to CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.

Dental: Coverage of 100%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for basic services; 50%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for major services; 50%, maximum $3,000 lifetime maximum per child younger than 19, for orthodontic.

Vision: Coverage of $300 per year for younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for 21 and older.

Paramedical: $50 per visit, doctor’s referral required, for massage therapy.

STD: Coverage of 60% of weekly basic earnings, maximum $600 per week, payable after first day of accident or hospitalization and fourteenth day of illness, maximum 119 days (1/14/119).

LTD: Coverage of 60% of earnings, maximum $2,600 per month, payable after 119 days until age 65 (119/65).

AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.

Pension: New employees will join CLAC Group Retirement Savings Plan immediately and employer will contribute hourly amount based on job classification. Employer will contribute additional matching 2% to pension plan for each employee for all hours worked; each employee will also contribute 2% matching amount for all hours worked.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse (including common-law), child, sibling, sibling-in-law, legal dependant, parents, parents-in-law, legal guardian, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren.

Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours of pay at appropriate rate.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days.

Safety shoes: All employees will wear-CSA approved safety boots supplied by employer.

Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear-CSA approved safety hats supplied by employer. Employer will supply employees with all other safety-related equipment excluding prescription safety eyewear.

Editor’s notes: Education fund: Employer will contribute $0.02 per hour for all hours worked by all employees to education fund. Apprenticeship training fund: Employer will contribute $0.06 per hour for all hours worked by all employees to apprenticeship training fund. Training trust fund: Employer will contribute $0.15 per hour for all hours worked by all employees to training trust fund. Employer specific training fund: Employer will contribute to employer specific training fund. Training tickets: Employer agrees to pay for cost of training/ticket safety (or other) tickets that become requirement (and required tickets that expire during tenure with employer). Prescription safety eyewear: Employer will reimburse any employee 50% of cost of prescription safety eyewear,  maximum $300 according to following criteria: Employee must have worked 900 hours for first reimbursement. For any subsequent reimbursement employee must have worked additional 3,000 hours from last time reimbursed.
