Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 6, 2019 to Dec. 5, 2022. Signed in February 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Nov. 30, 2019: 2.5%

Effective Dec. 5, 2020: 2.5%

Effective Dec. 4, 2021: 2.5%

Shift premium: 1 hour of pay if employer provides 24 to 48 hours of notice of shift change; 2 hours of pay if employer provides less than 24 hours of notice. $0.90 per hour for second shift; $1.05 for third shift (for third-shift employees, premium is paid for each paid hour of normal workweek). $1 per hour worked for employees in technical positions group who must hold aircraft maintenance licence recognized by Transport Canada (M, S, E). $0.60 per hour worked for employees at aircraft level inspections groups who have approval stamp connected to quality department activities. $0.60 per hour worked for employees who have approval stamp related to activities of shops and receiving inspections. $3 per hour worked for employees in charge of aircraft release as part of duties. $50 per flight test when employer asks employees to perform flight tests. $1.50 per hour for lead-hands.

Paid holidays: 6 days. For winter holiday season, statutory holidays are from Dec. 24 up to (and including) Jan. 2.

Vacations with pay: 8 hours per month, maximum 80 hours, to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 9 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 18 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 25 years.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work beyond normal workweek; double time for work on Sunday. Double time for work after 3 hours of overtime per day or 8 hours of overtime per week. May be taken as leave with pay, maximum 48 hours per year (renewable once). All of accumulated hours remaining at end of reference year are paid to employee together with last pay of year.

Pension: Mandatory membership after 3 months of service.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of present spouse, son or daughter of employee, child from previous relationship of present spouse, father or mother of employee. 3 days for death of brother or half-brother, sister or half-sister, father-in-law, mother in law, grandson or granddaughter of employee. 1 day for death of grandfather or grandmother, brother-in-law or sister-in-law of employee.

Seniority – recall rights: 3 months (over duration of collective agreement) when employee is transferred to position excluded from bargaining unit within establishments referred to in accreditation. 30 consecutive months when employee is absent from work on account of accident or illness unrelated to Act Respecting Industrial Accidents and Occupational Diseases; 36 consecutive months when employee is absent from work on account of occupational accident or illness. 24 months or period equal to acquired seniority, maximum 48 months, when employee was laid off or displaced by layoff.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of work or pay without work, at applicable rate, or pay for actual number of hours worked at applicable overtime rate (also applicable in cases when employee is called to work on Saturday, Sunday, statutory holiday).

Probationary period: 3 months worked (period excludes any leave of more than 1 week, except for CNESST (Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail) case).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for any disciplinary measure against employee as well as any mention of suspension; 18 months in case of repeated offence of same nature.

Safety shoes: Employer will provide 1 pair of approved protective footwear every year (every 6 months for aircraft painters), based on date employee received last pair

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide employees with personal protective equipment (including winter coats, boots, tuques, mittens, raincoats) as necessary. Employer is responsible for providing employees with appropriate safety glasses, whether or not corrective lenses are required (1 pair every 2 years, based on date when employee received last pair. If employee’s eyesight has deteriorated and prescription needs to be renewed before 2-year period, employer will make necessary changes to employee’s glasses).

Employees will receive lump-sum payment of $800 to all employees who had permanent status on Dec. 6, 2019, within 2 weeks following approval of collective agreement.

Editor’s notes: Retention premium: Paid to all employees for each hour worked: $0.75 for first 2 steps of each salary scale; $1.25 for next 2 steps of each salary scale; $1.75 for 3 or 4 higher steps of each salary scale. Payable 3 times per year. Personal days: At start of each reference year, all employees will be entitled to 40 hours of personal days. New employees, after probation period is completed, receive 1 personal day calculated on basis of 6 hours per month (but not exceeding 40 hours) for period between hiring date and end of reference year. All unused personal days are paid out at 100% of regular hourly rate. Employee travel on outside work: Allowance of 60 minutes before departure, 60 minutes after arrival to allow for travel from home and to place of accommodation or work at outside location (location further than 80 kilometres from Montreal International Airport in Dorval), should employees travel on any public transportation system. If employee departs or arrives via Montreal International Airport in Dorval, allowance will be increased by further 60 minutes. Per diem: $15 to cover incidental expenses when employee is working away from home. Standby: $30 for each standby day on day normally off or on statutory holiday. Paid educational leaves: Employer will pay $0.03 per hour per unionized employee for all hours paid into special fund to provide for paid professional development leaves.
