Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022. Ratified on Nov. 24, 2020. Signed on April 1, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2020: $0.25 per hour

Effective April 1, 2021: $0.25 per hour

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% after 1 year, 20 days or 8% after 5 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years, 30 days or 12% after 25 years. Employees who are not able to schedule and utilize full vacation entitlement will be paid out at end of vacation year.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week; all work after 12 hours per day or 42.67 per week for night attendants. May be taken as time off but must be taken within 6 months from date it was accrued.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Sick leave: 1.25 days per month to start. Employees will be given 15 days every April 1, to use in next fiscal year, after 1 year of service. Employees may carry maximum 10 credits over per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) but will not accrue more than 25 credits at any given time. Counselors, night attendants will be given burn-out days, as required.

Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (spouse (legal or common-law), parent, child, grandparent, sister, grandchild, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law daughter-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, spouse’s grandparents).

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs. If employee accepts position outside bargaining unit, employee will retain seniority accumulated up to date of leaving bargaining unit and seniority will not accrue when employee is working outside scope of bargaining unit.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of time off with pay or 3 hours of pay at basic rate of pay.

Probationary period: 500 hours worked, exclusive of overtime hours. Period may be extended by employer for additional 250 hours worked, exclusive of overtime hours.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for employee who has been subject to disciplinary action.

Mileage: If employer requires employee to use private automobile for employer business, employee will be reimbursed for distance traveled at rate currently paid by AHS (Alberta Health Services) to its employees for similar travel.

Program coordinator: $25.82 rising 1 step to $26.07

Senior counselors (RSW): $25.95 rising 1 step to $26.20

Senior counselors: $24.08 rising 1 step to $24.33

Counselors 2: $21.95 rising 1 step to $22.20

Counselors 1: $21.36 rising 1 step to $21.61

Office administrator: $21.76 rising 1 step to $22.01

Secretary/receptionist: $20.70 rising 1 step to $20.95

Cook: $21.45 rising 1 step to $21.70

Maintenance person: $21.95 rising 1 step to $22.20

Senior housekeeper: $20.70 rising 1 step to $20.95

Housekeeper: $20.45 rising 1 step to $20.70

Night attendant 3: $19.70 rising 1 step to $19.95

Night attendant 2: $19.37 rising 1 step to $19.62

Night attendant 1: $18.72 rising 1 step to $18.97

Regular employees will receive $150 per year Christmas bonus.

Editor’s notes: Family leave: Employer will provide 3 family leave days, without loss of pay, each year to each regular and part-time employee.
