Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2019. Ratified on Dec. 1, 2017. Signed on Jan. 19, 2018.
Shift premium: $4 per hour for lead hands, maximum 5 days per assignment. $0.30 per hour for all any employee who works regularly scheduled shift, with majority of hours, excluding overtime, falling between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Paid holidays: 12 days. 
Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% to start, 20 days or 8% after 7 years, 25 days or 10% after 12 years, 30 days or 12% after 19 years. Maximum 5 days per year may be carried over to following year. 
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours or on Saturday. Double time for work on Sunday. 
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.
Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 100% reimbursement for basic coverage; 50% reimbursement for major, orthodontic coverage; 100% reimbursement for accidental dental injury. Maximum $3,500 per year for basic, major coverage. 
Vision: Employer pays 100% of premium. $500 every 2 years per dependant for prescription eyeglasses and frames, contact lenses, laser eye surgery. 1 eye examination every 24 months. $250 every 2 years for prescription safety glasses.
Sick leave: 1.5 days per month. May be accumulated, maximum 125 days.
LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 70% of first $5,715 of monthly earnings plus 50% of remainder, maximum $10,000.
AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 250% of annual earnings, maximum $250,000. 
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 250% of annual earnings, maximum $250,000. 
Pension: All employees — as condition of employment — must participate in Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, child, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchild, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 day for death of relative who is not immediate family or funeral for reasons of responsibility to club or organization. 2 additional days if considerable travel is involved.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. 
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours’ pay, plus travel allowance. 
Probationary period: 3 months. 
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year, 2 years for safety infraction or safety-related.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply all personal protective equipment. $300 per year for CSA-approved safety apparel (boots, clothing). Employees will receive 1 pair of coveralls cleaned per week. 
Tool allowance: $50 bi-weekly for journeyman mechanics, welders required to provide substantial amount of own tools.

Editor’s notes: Temporary employees: Each temporary employee is limited to maximum of 864 working regular hours per year. On-call: $30 per day for week days; $50 per day for weekends; $70 per day for named holidays. Health and wellness: To help employee productivity and to reduce sick leave, maximum $300 per year toward cost of employer-approved exercise program, will be paid. Long-service awards: $150 (previously $100) after 5 years of service; $300 (previously $200) after 10 years of service; $450 (previously $300) after 15 years of service; $600 (previously $400) after 20 years of service; $900 (previously $600) plus appropriate plaque after 25 years of service; $1,200 (previously $800) plus appropriate plaque after 30 years of service; $1,500 (previously $1,000) plus appropriate plaque after 35 years of service; $2,000 (previously $1,500) plus appropriate plaque after 40 years of service.
