Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 31, 2015, to Jan. 30, 2019. Signed on May 6, 2015.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 31, 2016: 50¢
Effective Jan. 31, 2017: 50¢
Effective Jan. 31, 2018: $1
Shift premium: 25¢ per hour for all hours worked during the night shift.
Paid holidays: 11 days. Double time for all hours worked on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Time and one-half for all hours worked on other paid holidays.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 11 years and 5 weeks after 20 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
Meal allowance: $10 when a run exceeds 13 hours. $10 for employees required to remain at the branch to await the return of an overnight run that is unduly delayed and arrives after 7 p.m.
Vision: $200 every 2 years.
Sick leave: 5 days for full-time employees.
LTD: 60% of monthly earning for a maximum of 3 years.
AD&D: $40,000. $40,000 for felonious assault insurance.
Life insurance: $40,000.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for employee’s parent, grandparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, spouse, child, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepparent or legal guardian.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay.
Probationary period: 180 days.
Safety shoes: $125 every 2 years.
Uniforms/clothing: The employer provides uniforms. Employer reimburses 50% of the cost of bullet-resistant vests to a maximum of $275 for employees working on the road. The employer has no liability as a consequence of vest failure as the purchase and utilization of the vest is at the sole discretion of the employee. Employees will be eligible to replace vests every 5 years.
Sample rates of pay (current, after 50¢ increase):
Messenger/crew chief: $20 per hour
Driver: $19.50
Guard: $19.50
Technician: $18.31
Part-time messenger/crew chief: $15.50
Part-time driver: $15.50
Part-time guard: $15.50
Part-time technician: $15.50
Editor’s notes: Severe weather: When the employer cancels a run or multiple runs due to severe weather conditions, employees will be paid the scheduled hours for their particular runs. Employees already on the road who are recalled because of unsafe road conditions will be paid the scheduled hours for their particular runs. The employer may require recalled employees to perform other duties until the end of their scheduled shift. Shooting practice: Employees will be paid 4 hours at straight time 2 times each year for the purpose of shooting practice and qualification.
