Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026. Signed on Aug. 31, 2023.
Wage adjustments:
Effective December 2023: Wage increase (employer to negotiate increase with customer)
Effective December 2024: Wage increase (employer to negotiate increase with customer)
Effective December 2025: Wage increase (employer to negotiate increase with customer)
Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for Teamsters’ National Benefit Plan. For new hires: 0 to 1 year of service employer pays 0% of premiums; 1 to 2 years of service employer pays 10%; 2 to 3 years of service employer pays 20%; 3 to 4 years of service employer pays 30%; 4 to 5 years to service employer pays 40%; more than 5 years of service employer pays 50%.
Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for dependent contractor who has been on layoff due to lack of work; 90 days for dependent contractors who have been given leave of absence.
Probationary period: First 90 calendar days.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for verbal or written warnings.
Uniforms/clothing: When dependent contractor is required to wear any kind of uniform or coveralls as condition of continued employment, uniform or coveralls will be furnished and maintained by employer at no cost to dependent contractor. Any dependent contractor who is exposed to hazard by handling toxic or noxious chemicals will be provided with adequate protective clothing and equipment.
Sample rates of per-load pay (current):
Revenue split: 65% for owner operator/35% for employer
Work time and standby time: 65% of revenue received
Editor’s notes: Union/industry advancement fund: Employer will contribute $0.05 per hour, maximum 8 hours per day or $0.40 for each dependent contractor covered by collective agreement to Teamsters Local No. 31 Union/Industry Advancement Fund.
