Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2024. Signed on Feb. 1, 2022.
Shift premium: 7.5% for lead-hands. 15% for foreman. $0.50 per hour for steward. $0.75 per hour for steward w/ tool box 1. $1 per hour for steward w/ tool box 2. $1.25 per hour for steward w/ tool box 3. $1.50 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 1. $1.75 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 2. $2 per hour for chief steward w/ tool box 3. $2 per hour for night shift (all hours when majority of shift falls between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.). $2 per hour for dual ticket (journey person scaffolding ticket and journey person insulating ticket and hired with intent to use both tickets or performs both tasks).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: All employees will receive 6% of base wage as vacation pay. Employer will consider vacations at times requested considering business requirements.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 regular straight-time hours per day and 40 regular straight-time hours per week.
Meal allowance: Employer will provide 1 meal period of one-half hour, paid at overtime wage rate, and 1 meal for employees if employees are not scheduled, but are on site beyond 12 hours in 1 day; if meal cannot be provided, employee will receive 1 half-hour, paid at overtime wage rate, in addition to paid break.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2.08 per hour (previously $1.95 per hour)( to CLAC Health and Welfare Trust Fund.
Paramedical: Maximum $50 per visit for massage therapy.
LTD: Coverage of 60% of earnings, maximum $2,800 per month, per employee, payable after 119 days until age 65 (119/65).
AD&D: Coverage of $100,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute to union-sponsored group RSP for each employee, for all hours worked. Employer will contribute 2%, employee will contribute 2% to CLAC pension plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, child, legal dependant; 3 days off with pay for death of father, mother, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, legal guardian, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at appropriate rate.
Probationary period: 90 calendar days.
Uniforms/clothing: All employees will wear safety hats to be made available by employer. Employer will furnish employees with reasonable supply of gloves, safety equipment, including safety glasses, body harnesses with lanyards, fire-retardant coveralls, raingear.
Tool allowance: Each employee is eligible for PPE/tool allowance of $200, 1-time per year after first 6 months of employment.
Mileage: $1.25 per kilometre from permanent residence to 75-kilometre distance, as per Google Maps, and back to employee’s residence for daily travel outside 75-kilometre distance.
