Renewal agreement: Effective June 13, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on June 3, 2021. Signed on June 13, 2021.

Shift premium: $0.60 per hour for all hours worked for employees who work split shift. $0.75 per hour for work on night shift (any shift that includes at least 4 hours between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.). $1.50 per hour for all hours worked for union employees relieving non-union positions. $1.25 per hour for housing/retail worker relieving housekeeping coordinator. $2 per hour for all hours spent conducting training.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 6 months, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years. 2 weeks after 6 months, 3 weeks after 4 years for employees hired after June 15, 2017. Vacation pay will be paid at 6%; 8% for employees who have 8 years of service (4%; 6% for employees who have 8 years of service for employees hired after June 15, 2017).

Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or on Sunday or all hours worked on employee’s scheduled day off (provided employee has worked all scheduled work days during 20-day schedule rotation).

Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2.22 per hour (previously $2.15 per hour) to health and welfare trust fund.

Pension: Employer will contribute $3.75 per hour (previously $3.50 per hour) worked to RRSP for eligible employees. Employer will contribute 5%, employee will contribute 5% to RRSP for employees hired after June 15, 2017.

Bereavement leave: 7 days (3 paid) for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law, interdependent-partner, same-sex spouses, life-partner, mother, father, brother, sister, children, stepchild, stepparents, stepsister, stepbrother, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren).

Seniority – recall rights: 210 days for layoffs.

Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of work or 4 hours of pay at overtime rate.

Probationary period: 60 days worked.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for records of disciplinary action.

Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide, free of charge to employees, safety supplies, articles of clothing and footwear which are deemed necessary for employee’s safety and health.

First cook: $32.50 rising 1 step to $33.15
Journeyman cook: $30.13 rising 1 step to $30.78
Journeyman baker: $30.13 rising 1 step to $30.78
Non-journeyman cook: $27.78 rising 1 step to $28.43
Non-journeyman baker: $27.78 rising 1 step to $28.43

Cook or baker apprentice 3rd-year: $26.28 rising 1 step to $26.93

Cook or baker apprentice 2nd-year: $25.74 rising 1 step to $26.39

Cook or baker apprentice 1st-year: $24.67 rising 1 step to $25.32

Dining room coordinator (>1,500 rooms): $28.95 rising 1 step to $29.60

Kitchen worker: $25.74 rising 1 step to $26.39

Housekeeping coordinator: $28.95 rising 1 step to $29.60

Housing/retail worker: $25.74 rising 1 step to $26.39

Front-desk attendant: $25.99 rising 1 step to $26.64

Editor’s notes: Training fund: Employer will contribute $0.15 for each hour worked to UFCW, Local 401 Education and Training Fund. Transportation: $325 per month for transportation will be provided by employer to and from Fort McMurray and lodges on regularly scheduled turnaround days. Point of dispatch will be Edmonton.
