Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022. Ratified on April 9, 2020. Signed on June 24, 2020.
Paid holidays: 12 days.
Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 9 years, 25 days after 12 years, 30 days after 19 years. No vacation credits will be carried over from 1 vacation year to next vacation year, unless mutually agreed in advance by employer and employee.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7 or 8 hours per day or 35 or 40 hours per week; double time after 2 hours of overtime. May be taken as time off in lieu. Any surplus overtime not taken by April 30 will be paid out.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 98% of premiums, employee pays 2% of premiums (previously employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums). Effective Sept. 1, 2021: $Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 98% of premiums, employee pays 2% of premiums (previously employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums). Effective Sept. 1, 2021: $Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Vision: Employer pays 98% of premiums, employee pays 2% of premiums (previously employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums). Effective Sept. 1, 2021: $Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Sick leave: 2 days for each month, maximum 24 days per year. Any unused portion will be accumulated, maximum 120 days. Employee may use up to 5 work days to attend to serious illness of spouse, common-law partner, child, parent, guardian, parent-in-law, grandparent, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, sister, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent of spouse, close family who live in employee’s household (defined as life-threatening medical condition).
AD&D: Employer pays 98% of premiums, employee pays 2% of premiums (previously employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums). Effective Sept. 1, 2021: Employer pays 100% of premiums.

Pension: All eligible employees will be enrolled in Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of parent, spouse, common-law partner, child, mother, father-in-law. 3 days for death of brother, sister, sister, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild, guardian, fiancé, any other person who has been residing in employee’s household. Maximum 3 days, with pay, for travel purposes when attendance at funeral requires employee to travel outside of province. One-half day off per school year to attend memorial or funeral service within school division. For funerals and memorial services outside school division, leave may be extended to 1 full day.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours, at overtime rates. Employee will be paid from time leaving home to report for duty, until time arriving back at home, provided employee proceeds directly from work to home.
Probationary period: 6 months from date of hire (probation period may be extended maximum 9 months).
Safety shoes: $150 every 2 years when employer requires employee to wear safety footwear, with no carry forward of any amount from 1 year to next year.
