Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025. Signed on Aug. 2, 2022.
Shift premium: Time and one-half for hours worked between midnight and 8 a.m. Double time when rest period is less than 10 hours until 10-hour turnaround period expires.
Paid holidays: 13 days, including National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, plus after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and after 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 6% after 3 years, 8$ after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day; double time for all hours worked after 12 hours per day. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours per week; double time for all hours worked after 60 hours per week. Time and one-half for first 8 hours worked on seventh and all consecutive workdays until day off is given; double time after 8 hours of work.
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute 4.55% of gross earnings.
Sick leave: 1 day for each month of employment, maximum 5 days.
Pension: Canadian Entertainment Industry Retirement Plan (CEIRP). Employer will contribute 3.5% (4% during 2024-2025 period of contact), employee contributes 3%.
Bereavement leave: 3 days, including day of funeral, for death in immediate family (spouse, child, mother, father, sister, brother, father-in-law, mother-in law, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relative residing in employee’s household). Additional days required will be considered unpaid leave of absence.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for un-retracted letter of warning.
Mileage: $0.58 per kilometre for travel in Calgary area when employer requests employee use personal vehicle for employer business.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 6.1% increase):
House crew/head rate: $30.90 rising 2 steps to $32.78
Casual crew: $27.30 rising 2 steps to $28.96
Running crew: $28.07 rising 2 steps to $29.78
Editor’s notes: Administration fees: Employer will pay IATSE 0.5% of gross earnings (wages plus vacation pay) of all employees for assistance in defraying costs of stage-technician training, health and welfare plan administration, dispatch. Comps and discounts: House crew will be entitled to 2 complimentary tickets of events presented by employer and producing partners.
