Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on June 23, 2019. Signed on June 23, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 0%
Shift premium: $1 per hour for employees who work Sundays (previously $0.90 per hour). $0.85 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) for employees who work between midnight and 7 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1floater day. Floater holiday not taken within entitlement year will be paid out on last pay period of entitlement year.
Vacations with pay: Librarians: 4 weeks (140 hours) after 1year, 5 weeks (175hours) after 15years, 6 weeks (210 hours) after 25 years. All other employees: 2 weeks (70hours) after 1year, 3 weeks (105 hours) after 2 years, 4 weeks (140 hours) after 8 years, 5 weeks (175 hours) after 15 years, 6 weeks (210 hours) after 25 years. Vacations cannot be taken during first 3months of employment.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week. Time may be banked and taken as time off in lieu, maximum 10days off. Any unused time will be paid out 6 months from pay period earned.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums). Employer will provide $500 for health spending account.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums).
Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums).
Sick leave: 105 hours per year. Maximum 1,050 hours. Employee with more than 1 year of service who has exhausted sick-leave credits will be allowed extension of leave, maximum 10 working days. Upon return to duty, employee will repay extension in full at rate of 1 day per month.
LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums.
Life insurance: Effective Jan.1, 2020: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums (previously employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums).
Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of relative (mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband, common-law spouse, spouse equivalent, child, foster-child, guardian, mother in-law, father-in-law, grandparent or grandchild of employee); 7 days when funeral or other passage ceremony occurs outside province. 1 day when employee is unable to attend funeral or other passage ceremony because of distance.
Seniority – recall rights: 2years following commencement of disability benefits for employee receiving LTD benefits or for layoffs.
Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours at overtime rates.
Probationary period: 910hours worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24months.
Safety shoes: $150 per year for steel-toed boots for drivers, building-maintenance assistants, mechanical-maintenance assistants, shop supervisors.
Mileage: If employee elects to use personal vehicle on library business, which takes them from regularly scheduled place of work to another location during work day (and for less than 1 complete work day), reimbursement will be made at minimum of rates established by Canada Revenue Agency, including parking fees where applicable.
