Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on Jan. 1, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective May 1, 2019: increase by CPI national average for previous calendar year, maximum 2%

Effective May 1, 2020: increase by CPI national average for previous calendar year, maximum 2%

Effective May 1, 2021: increase by CPI national average for previous calendar year, maximum 2%

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks or 120 hours after 1 year, 4 weeks or 160 hours after 16 years, 5 weeks or 200 hours after 26 years. Unused vacation is noncumulative and will not be carried over to subsequent year except that maximum 40 hours’ unused vacation may be carried over to subsequent year provided that hours must be used within first 2 months of subsequent year, are first paid vacation hours used by employee in that subsequent year and if not used are not thereafter carried over.

Overtime: Time and one-half for all overtime hours worked. Time may be banked, maximum 80 hours at any 1 time.

Sick leave: 4 days per year. Employer will pay out unused sick time to employee who voluntarily retires. Unused days may be accumulated and carried forward to next year, provided that employee will have maximum 16 days in sick bank at any time. Any unused days that would result in employee having more than 16 days in sick bank at any time will be immediately forfeited.

Pension: All maintenance employees will automatically be enrolled in company’s pension plan after 1 year of service.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, employee’s child (including miscarriage or still birth), parents of employee or employee’s spouse, sister, brother, grandparents, brother-in-aw, sister-in-law, any relatives residing in employee’s home).

Seniority – recall rights: 9 months after layoffs.

Call-in pay: Greater of actual time worked or 3 hours of pay at regular rate. If employee has already worked regularly scheduled shift, overtime may be applicable after 2 hours.

Probationary period: 6 months of active employment.

Safety shoes: $400 per year for employees in classification of engineer or apprentice for CSA safety shoes, winter boots, tooling and personal protective equipment (PPE). $200 per year for employee in stores department and classification of groomer for CSA safety footwear

Uniforms/clothing: Company uniform for employees in engineer, apprentice or groomer classifications will consist of: 1 pair arctic ski pant (such as Carhart winter bibs); 1 winter coat; 4 combined outfits; 2 sweaters; 1 Calm Air ball cap; 1 winter hat (toque) and employer will pay 100% of uniform costs. Company uniform for employees in stores supervisor, shipper receiver/stores clerk 1 or shipper receiver/stores clerk 2 classifications will consist of: 1 winter coat. Employer will pay 70% of cost, employee will pay 30% of cost of employer-approved heavy winter parka.

Editor’s notes: Licensing fees: Employer will pay, upon successful completion, cost of an employee’s AME (aircraft maintenance engineers) license, and examination as per Transport Canada fee schedule. Per diems: Employees will receive meal per diem of $84.50 per day for any work-related assignments away from main base. Meal per diems for working in Nunavut are $84.50. Loyalty pay: $1 per hour for every 5 years of service, maximum $3 per hour. Paid education leave: Employer pays $100 into special fund for paid education leave.
