Renewal agreement: Effective April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2022. Ratified in January 2019. Signed on Oct. 24, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective April 1, 2019: 1.8%

Effective April 1, 2020: 1.7%

 Effective April 1, 2021: 1.7%

Shift premium: $2.10 per hour for each hour of evening shift, $2.35 per hour for each hour on night shift. $2.45 per hour for each hour on weekend shift. $1.40 per hour for temporarily performing duties of higher-paying classification for 1 or more full shifts. $0.60 per hour when providing preceptorship to students or mentorship to other employees.

Paid holidays: 12 days, including 1 float day.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 3 years, 5 weeks after 12 years, 6 weeks after 21 years, 7 weeks after 27 years. No more than 1 year’s entitlement can be carried over.

Overtime: Time and one-half for authorized hours in excess of normal or standard workday or workweek. Time and one-half for next shift if changed with less than 48 hours’ notice. Time and one-half for regular hours worked on statutory holiday, double time for overtime hours on holiday.

Meal allowance: $6 for employees who work more than 2 hours of overtime immediately following scheduled hours of work.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for extended health care plan.

Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for extended dental plan.

Sick leave: 0.75 days per month of paid service maximum 9 days per year. Can be accumulated, maximum 27 days added.

STD:  Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 70% of weekly earnings up to 26 weeks, beginning on first day for accident or hospitalization and sixth day for illness. Employees may top up with any unused sick days if used for first 9 days.

LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage for 66 2/3% of earnings.

AD&D: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.

Pension: Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan.

Bereavement leave: 5 consecutively scheduled paid working days for death of spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling. 3 consecutively scheduled paid working days for death of parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, grandparent, grandparent-in-law, grandchild, guardian, ward, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. Employer may provide additional paid or unpaid leave not contiguous at its discretion.

Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.

Call-in pay:  Minimum 2 hours’ pay at time and one-half if called back to work after leaving work at end of regular shift.

Probationary period: 60 tours worked (450 hours of work for employees whose regular hours of work are other than standard workday). May be extended for not more than additional 60 tours or 450 hours.

Severance: 2 weeks’ salary for each year of continuous service to maximum of 20 weeks’ pay when employee resigns within 1 month after receiving layoff notice. 4 weeks’ salary when employee resigns later than 1 month after receiving layoff notice.

Mileage: $0.43 per kilometre if employee is required to travel back to work or return home as result of being called back to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
