Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2024. Signed on June 15, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Sept. 1, 2020: 2%

Effective Sept. 1, 2021: 2%

Effective Sept. 1, 2022: 2%

Effective Sept. 1, 2023: 2%

Shift premium: $1.15 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours, between 6 p.m. and midnight. $1.40 per hour for all hours worked, including overtime hours, between midnight and 6 a.m. $1.40 per hour for work on Saturday, Sunday.

Paid holidays: 10 days plus 1 additional day that is recognized as provincial or civic holiday or first Monday in August.

Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 14 years, 6 weeks after 21 years, 7 weeks after 28 years. 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 18 years, 6 weeks after 28 years for employees hired after May 12, 2014. Unused portion of vacation leave will be carried over into following vacation year.

Overtime: Paid at time and one-half for all overtime worked of 2 hours or less; double time for all overtime worked by longer than 2 hours for which is contiguous to regularly scheduled hours of work. Overtime may be compensated in equivalent leave with pay.

Meal allowance: $6.25 if employee works more than 2 hours overtime past daily schedule or shift. If employee works 3 or more hours of overtime, employee will be provided 1 paid meal period of one-half hour paid at time and one-half.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 95% of premiums, employee pays 5% of premiums. Coverage of 80% for basic; 70% for major; 50% for orthodontic services.

Vision: $300 for each 4-year period. Lifetime maximum $300 for visual correction by laser.

Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, brother, sister, spouse, common-law spouse resident with employee, child, child of common-law spouse, stepchild, ward of employee, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparents, grandparents of employee’s spouse, grandchildren, any relative residing in employee’s household). Additional 3 days of leave may be given for travel related to death. 1 day for death of son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: Period equivalent to length of seniority after layoff after 6 months of service; 2 years after 2 years of employment; 4 years after 4 years of employment.

Probationary period: 6 months.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for notice of disciplinary action or 2 years after disciplinary action was taken, whichever occurs first.

Editor’s notes: First-aid training: Employer will encourage employees to take first aid courses and will assume costs of courses and also costs of refresher courses required to maintain validity of certificate. Transportation costs: When employee is required to report before public transportation services have commenced or to remain at work or to return to work after normal transportation services have been suspended, employee will be reimbursed for expenses: mileage allowance or out-of-pocket expenses for other means of commercial transportation. Standby: Amount equivalent to 1 hour’s pay at straight time, minimum $20 for each 8-hour period that on standby. Hearing aids: Maximum $750 for each 60-month period. Marriage leave: After 6 months of employment, employee will be given 5 days leave, with pay, to get married. Personal days: Each full-time employee will be allocated 7 personal days on July 1 of each year.
