Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Ratified in November 2020. Signed on Dec. 30, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2.8%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2.2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1.4%

Shift premium: $2.25 per hour (previously $2 per hour) for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $2 per hour for all hours worked on Saturday, Sunday. $20 in addition to regular daily pay if: scheduled hours of work are changed by employer after mid-point of previous work day or scheduled meal break is changed by employer more than one-half hour after mid-point of employee’s previous work day.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Vacations with pay: For each calendar month with 75 paid hours: 9.375 hours to start, 12.5 hours after 8 years, 13.75 hours after 16 years, 14.375 hours after 17 years, 15.625 hours after 18 years, 16.875 hours after 27 years, 18.75 hours after 28 years. For each calendar month with 80 paid hours: 10 hours to start, 13.33 hours after 8 years, 14.57 hours after 16 years, 15.33 hours after 17 years, 16.67 hours after 18 years, 18 hours after 27 years, 20 hours after 28 hours. All service within public service — whether continuous or discontinuous, including any former service in Canadian Forces, for continuous period of 6 months or more — will count towards vacation leave. 1 personal day per year.

Overtime: Time and one-half in 15-minute periods for hours worked in excess of regular hours in 1 day or week; double time for each hour worked in excess of 15 hours’ worked in any 24-hour period or after 7.5 hours on employee’s first day of rest and all hours on second day of rest. For GL and GS classifications, double time after 16 hours worked in any 24-hour period or after 7.5 hours on first day of rest and all hours on second day of rest.

Meal allowance: $12 for employees who works 3 or more hours of overtime immediately before or following scheduled hours of work. $12 for each additional 3-hour period thereafter, except where free meals are provided.

Dental: Public Service Dental Care Plan.

Sick leave: 9.375 hours for each calendar month with 75 paid hours, or 10 hours for each calendar months with 80 paid hours. Shift workers receive additional 1.25 hours for each calendar month with 75 paid hours to maximum of 112.5 per year, or 1.33 hours for each calendar month with 80 paid hours up to 120 per year. Up to 187.5 hours may be given in advance and deducted from subsequently earned credits.

Bereavement leave: 5 paid days in 1 period of 7 consecutive calendar days or 2 periods for death of parent, stepparent, foster-parent, sibling, stepsibling, spouse, common-law partner, child, stepchild, foster-child, ward, grandchild, parent-in-law, child-in-law, grandparent, any relative permanently residing in employee’s household, person who stands in place of relative. Must include day of memorial or begin within 2 days following death. 1 paid day for death of sibling-in-law or grandparents of spouse. Up to 3 additional paid days may be given for travel.

Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours’ pay at overtime rate when called back to work on holiday or day of rest or after employee has left work. One half-hour of pay for each 4-hour period on standby duty.

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.

Severance: For first layoff, 2 weeks’ pay for first year of continuous employment plus 1 week’s pay for each additional complete year of employment and partial week’s pay for additional partial year of employment. 3 weeks’ pay for first year of employment after 10 years of service, 4 weeks' pay for first year after 20 years of service. For second layoff or severance termination, 1 week’s pay for each year of continuous employment plus partial week’s pay for any additional partial year of employment.
