Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023. Signed on Nov. 20, 2020.

Wage adjustments:

Effective July 1, 2020: 1%

Effective July 1, 2021: 1%

Effective July 1, 2022: 1%

Shift premium: $0.85 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) (for any hours worked after 5 p.m.) for employees who are scheduled to work at or after noon but before 4 p.m. $0.85 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) for employees who work between 4 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. $0.95 per hour (previously $0.95 per hour) for employees working between midnight and 6:59 a.m.

Paid holidays: 11 days.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week. Employees may bank overtime for time off at later date, instead of receiving monetary compensation, maximum 50 overtime hours or 75 straight-time hours within 12-month period. If banked time cannot be used within 12-months following date on which overtime was worked, overtime will be paid out on first pay following twelfth month. Time and one-half for Employees on MWA (modified work arrangement) will only be paid overtime for time worked after 75 hours on biweekly basis.

Meal allowance: $10 for employees who have worked 9.5 hours or more in 1 day, unless they are on MWA. Employees who have worked overtime of 2 hours or more in addition to regular work day or when working minimum 4 hours overtime on Saturday, Sunday, holidays, will be entitled to meal allowance.

Pension: CIBC pension plan.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months if employee participates in secondment outside bargaining unit. 1 year or time equal to employee’s seniority prior to layoff, whichever is lesser, after layoffs.

Probationary period: 73 days worked (employer may extend period for up to additional 20 days actually worked only if it is necessary to ensure proper assessment of employee’s performance).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for disciplinary measures. When disciplinary notice is more than 1 year old, and if there are no other measures in employee’s file, notice will not adversely affect employee’s performance evaluation.

Severance: 2.5 weeks of severance for each year of service to start; 3 weeks of severance for each year of service after 11 years of service. Maximum 24 months.

Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase):

All level 2: $16.25 rising 1 step to $17

Level 3 excl. DCC: $16.95 rising 1 step to $17.25

DCC: $17.15 rising 1 step to $17.35

Level 4 excl. care: $18.70 rising 1 step to $19.10

Level 4 care: $19.70 rising 1 step to $20.10

Maximum rates for all levels

Level 2: $17.50

Level 3: $20.70

Level 4: $25

Editor’s notes: Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $0.01 per hour from wages of all employees in bargaining unit for all hours worked for USW humanity fund. Purpose day: Employer will offer employees maximum 1 paid day per year to help further support achievement of personal or professional goals.
