Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023. Ratified on Dec. 9, 2020. Signed on Feb. 11, 2020.
Shift premium: $0.35 per hour for employee who works on any shift where majority of working hours fall between 4 p.m. and midnight. $1 per hour for lead-hands (previously $0.80 per hour). $0.25 per hour for soil counters.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day for each 23 days worked to start, 2 weeks after 1 years, 3 weeks after 4 years, 4 weeks after 11 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 12 hours of work in 1 day. Time and one-half for all work on regular assigned day of rest.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Alberta Health Care Plan.
Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of maximum $1,500 per year.
Vision: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of $250 every 2 years for eye glasses.
Paramedical: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 80% of visit cost, maximum $200 per year per employee, with doctor’s referral, for massage therapy.
Sick leave: 1 half-day per month, maximum 6 days or 48 hours per year after 640 hours of service. In order to be paid for 2 or more days of absence, doctor’s certificate must be presented when returning to work and employee must have accumulated sufficient days of credit.
STD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Coverage of $15,000.
Pension: Employer will contribute $1.20 per hour (previously $1.15 per hour). Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $1.25 per hour. Effective Jan. 1, 2023: $1.30 per hour.
Bereavement leave: Maximum 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parent, child, brother, sister, grandparents of employee, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepchildren). 1 day for death of employee’s spouse’s grandparents.
Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours of pay at overtime rates.
Probationary period: 640 hours of accumulated service.
Safety shoes: $100 for 1 pair of safety approved footwear per year, after 1 year of service.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide and maintain uniforms.
