Renewal agreement: Effective March 7, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2023. Signed on March 7, 2021.
Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for employees whose shifts begin between 2 p.m. and 9:59 p.m. $1.50 per hour for employees whose shifts begin between 10 p.m. and 5:59 a.m.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per 25 days worked, maximum 10 days, to start, 15 days after 3 years, 20 days after 10 years, 25 days after 18 years, 30 days after 28 years. Employee who, due to sickness or injury, is unable to take or complete vacation in that year will have right to have vacation carried to following year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week or 5 days per week. Employees may elect time off in lieu of payment, maximum 40 accumulated straight-time hours may be taken as time off in any given instance.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, stepchild. 5 days (3 days paid) for death of grandchild, grandparent, father or mother of spouse, common-law parent of father or mother, any relative of employee who resides with employee. 3 days for death of stepgrandchild, stepparent, stepbrother, stepsister.
Seniority – recall rights:
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay, for which 3 hours service may be required at time and one-half, for employees assigned, notified or called in to work on regularly assigned rest days. Minimum 1 hour at time and one-half for 1 hour’s service or less for calls outside of regularly assigned hours of duty on regular working days but within 1 hour before regularly assigned starting time.
Probationary period: 110 non-training tours of duty or 9 months of active service as RTC (rail traffic controllers), whichever comes first.
Mileage: $0.37 per kilometre.

Classroom training, training rate: $34.01
On-the job training 85% of job rate: $45.02
Probationary period 90% of job rate: $47.68
Completion of probationary period 100% of job rate: $52.98
RTC job rate: $52.98
Editor’s notes: Away-from-home: $25 for each full day for meal expenses where employees are away from RTC Centre. Insurance upon retirement: Employee who retires, and provided employee is 55 or older, with minimum 10 years of service, will receive $7,000 life insurance policy, fully paid up by employer.
