Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on March 11, 2020. Signed on March 24, 2020.

Shift premium: $1.27 per hour (previously $1.24 per hour) for hours worked between 6:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $1.29 per hour. $2.80 per hour (previously $2.74 per hour) for hours worked between 6:45 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $2.85 per hour. $1.92 per hour (previously $1.89 per hour) for hours worked between 4 p.m. and midnight. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $1.96 per hour. $3.28 per hour (previously $3.21 per hour) for hours worked between midnight and 8 a.m. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $3.34 per hour. Employee, when asked by supervisor to accept duties and responsibilities of foreman, special projects, coordinator for temporary period of 2 consecutive hours or more, will be paid $3 per hour, $2 per hour, $1.50 per hour respectively, while employee is so engaged. Employees who agree to work in Edson Gas Control will be paid regular wage rate based on regular wage rate immediately before working in Edson Gas Control plus $2 per hour. $2,400 per year for employees with journeyman trade ticket.

Paid holidays: 11 days plus twelfth holiday (floating).

Vacations with pay: 10 hours per month, maximum 120 hours, or 6% to start, 160 hours or 8% after 10 years, 200 hours or 10% after 18 years, 240 hours or 12% after 25 years. Normally vacation will be taken annually. However, 4 shifts of vacation may be deferred into next vacation year.

Overtime: Double time. Time may be banked, maximum 60 hours.

Meal allowance: Employer will provide meal at regular mealtimes (6 a.m., noon, 6 p.m., midnight) if employee works overtime and has insufficient time to prepare meal or employer will reimburse employee, maximum $18, for each meal arranged should employee choose to make arrangements for meal in lieu of employer-supplied meal.

Bereavement leave: 1 day for funeral, 4 additional days if required, for death of spouse (by marriage or common-law), son, daughter, parent, sister, brother, equivalent in-law, grandparent (by birth or marriage). 1 day to attend funeral of more distant relative or close friend.

Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 6 consecutive months while so employed for employees assigned to job classification not covered by agreement.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours’ at overtime wage rates.

Probationary period: 90 calendar days plus 70-day extension to period at employer’s request.

Severance: Greater of amount required by applicable employment standards legislation or amount equivalent to not less than 2 weeks’ pay plus 2 weeks’ pay for each year of service.

Safety shoes: Employer will provide safety boots to employees as per company protective-footwear standards.

Editor’s notes: Standby rates: 2 hours of straight-time pay for that day if employee is scheduled to work and scheduled to be on standby; 4 hours of straight-time pay if employee is scheduled to be off (rest day) but scheduled to be on standby. 4 hours’ straight-time pay per shift for employees scheduled for standby for sulphur train load-out purposes. Steam tickets: For all employees with third-, second-, first-class steam tickets paid out on quarterly schedule (January, April, July, October): $2,400 every 3 months for first-class ($9,600/year); $1,800 every 3 months ($7,200/year) for second-class; $600 every 3 months ($2,400/year) for third-class. Mandatory courses: Employees required to attend courses on regular days off that are deemed mandatory by employer will be paid at respective overtime hourly wage rates of pay for hours of attendance. Post-plant-closure costs: Employer will reimburse employee for training or moving costs incurred within 2 years of termination, maximum $2,000, provided such expense is for outside employment opportunity, less any other training or moving subsidy available to employee. Training costs will include registration, tuition fees, books, examination fees. Safety glasses: Employer will provide safety glasses to employees as per company protective-glass standards. Travel allowance: $35 per round trip for employees who must travel abnormal distance on daily basis to plant site on own time. Paid education leave: Employer will remit $0.05 for each full-time employee’s regular hours of work for paid education leave. Boiler association examinations: Overnight accommodation will be reimbursed if employees stay at approved hotel on employer’s accommodation list. If employees choose to stay with family or friends, $20 dollars will be reimbursed. Per diems will be reimbursed at $50 per day. Parking expenses will be reimbursed as required. Community fund: Employer will remit $0.03 for each full-time employee’s regular hours of work to Unifor Canadian Community Fund.
