Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 16, 2021 to Dec. 15, 2024. Signed on March 3, 2022.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for utility couriers.
Paid holidays: 10 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 52 hours in 1 week for P&D drivers. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 40 hours in 1 week for warehouse, forklift operator, ops administrator. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 60 hours in 1 week for line-haul drivers.
Sick leave: 3 paid sick days per year plus additional 2 days unpaid after 1 year of active continuous service. Days may not be carried over from year to year and will not be paid out.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, father, mother, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, children, children of employee’s spouse or common-law partner, grandchildren, bothers, sisters, grandfather, grandmother, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner of employee, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative of employee who resides with employee).
Seniority – recall rights: 90 days of work for employees promoted to supervisory positions or positions not subject to agreement. Years of service or 12 months, whichever comes first, if employee is laid off.
Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours of pay.
Probationary period: 60 days of work from first day worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for discipline placed on employee’s file.
Safety shoes: $150 per year (previously $100 per year) for safety boots which will be restricted to 1 pair per contract year.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 5 shirts; 3 pairs of pants including shorts; 1 pair of winter pants; 1 3-in-1 jacket; 1 hat to drivers.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3% increase):
General warehouse: $18 rising 2 steps to $18.54
Forklift: $20 rising 2 steps to $20.60
Lead-hand: $21 rising 2 steps to $21.63
G class day: $23 rising 2 steps to $23.70
G class night: $24.75 rising 2 steps to $25.50
DZ day: $24 rising 2 steps to $24.73
DZ night: $26 rising 2 steps to $26.79
AZ: $26 rising 2 steps to $26.79
Editor’s notes: Medical examinations: Any medical examination requested by employer will be promptly complied with by all employees and expense not covered by provisions outlined in health and welfare article or OHIP will be paid by employer. Personal day: 1 paid personal day in following year after 1 year of active continuous service.
