Renewal agreement: Effective March 7, 2022 to March 6, 2027. Signed on Jan. 12, 2022.

Wage adjustments:

Effective year 1: 2.5% plus $500 lump-sum payment

Effective year 2: 2.5%

Effective year 3: 2%

Effective year 4: 2%

Effective year 5: 2%

Shift premium: $0.85 per hours for afternoon or second shift which normally will start after 3 p.m. $1.35 per hour (previously $1.30 per hour) for third or night shift, which normally will start after 11 p.m. $1.35 on all hours worked 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. $1.10 per hour for designated first-aid attendant and alternate on shift.

Paid holidays: 13 days, including third Monday in February, 4 hours off with pay Christmas Eve, 4 hours off with pay New Year’s Eve, 1 employee floating holiday.

Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4.5% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6.5% after 2 years, 4 weeks or 8.5% after 7 years, 5 weeks or 10.5% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12.5% after 24 years, 7 weeks or 14.5% after 30 years. 10-hour vacation pay bonus will be given when employee takes first week of vacation after qualifying for full vacation.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work on Saturday; for work after 8 hours per day. Double time for work on Sunday; for work after 12 hours in any 24-hour period. Employee may bank up to 60 hours each year.

Meal allowance: $12 to employees required to work overtime of 2 hours or more and every 4 hours thereafter (rest period of 10 minutes will be given at commencement of each 2-hour overtime assignment).

Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums.

Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. 80% reimbursement for diagnostic, preventative therapy, oral surgery, minor restorative dentistry, repairs of existing appliance, endodontics, periodontics. 50% reimbursement for crowns and inlays, including gold and porcelain veneer fillings where other material is not suitable, creation of appliance (fixed bridge work, removable partial or complete dentures, replacement of existing appliance (fixed bridgework, removable partial or complete dentures).

Vision: $350 per family member, in any 2 consecutive years.

AD&D: Coverage of $95,000.

Life insurance: Coverage of $95,000.

Pension: Employee hired after Sept. 12, 2008 will participate in mandatory DC pension plan. DB pension plan for employee hired before Sept. 12, 2008.

Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, mother, father, children, adopted children. 3 days for death in extended family (brother, sister, stepparents, stepbrother, stepsister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepchildren, grandparents, grandchildren). 1 day for death of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law.

Seniority – recall rights: Period equal to length of service or for 1 year, whichever is lesser. 12 months for any reason away from workplace.

Probationary period: 720 hours worked (hours must be worked in consecutive 6-month period).

Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months (minimum of 935 hours must be worked during this time) for verbal warnings; 12 months (minimum of 1,875 hours must be worked during this time) for written warnings; 18 months (minimum of 2,800 hours must be worked during this time) for suspensions.

Safety shoes: $175 per year for 1 pair of safety ankle boots (including laces and inserts) for each employee. Employee may carry over maximum $175 per year.

Editor’s notes: Floater for probationary employees: Probationary employees will be granted 1-day floater immediately after completing probation period. Paid education leave: Employer will pay $0.03 per hour for all hours worked into Unifor paid education leave program.
