Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2023. Signed on Aug. 20, 2021.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Sept. 1, 2020: 1.5% (including retroactive on base pay)
Effective Sept. 1, 2021: 1.5%
Effective Sept. 1, 2022: 1.75%
Shift premium: $16 for tours of duty when employee temporarily performs work in higher-rated classification for 1 full shift or more; $2 per hour for work less than 1 full shift. $30 per hour when radio announcer works at remote location.
Paid holidays: 9 days plus 2 personal floater days that can be taken at any time during calendar year (before Dec. 31 of each year).
Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month, maximum 15 days to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 7 years, 23 days after 12 years, 25 days after 18 years, 30 days after 25 years. In special circumstances a maximum 1 year of vacation may be carried forward to next vacation year.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day; double time after 12 hours of work per day.
Medical benefits: Omniflex benefits plan.
Pension: All employees must join DC pension plan provided by employer.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (parents, spouse, common-law partner, same-sex partner, children, legal guardians, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandparents). When travel time is necessary, maximum 2 additional days will be given.
Seniority – recall rights: 12 months to start; 18 months for employees with 15 years of service.
Call-in pay: Time and one-half, minimum 2 hours, including travel time. If work extends beyond 4 hours, all time worked after first 4 hours will be compensated at double time.
Probationary period: 90 consecutive days (employer may extend period, maximum 180 days from date of hiring).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months.
Severance: 3 weeks’ pay per year of service, maximum 66 weeks, with minimum payout of 3 weeks’.
Safety shoes:
Uniforms/clothing: $450 (previously $425) on May 1 and $450 (previously $425) on Nov. 1 for on-camera TV news/sports announcers, TV anchors, TV host/producers. Engineering technicians will be provided with snowmobile suits, helmets and snowshoes as required.
Tool allowance: $15 per month for engineering technicians.

Editor’s notes: Out-of-town locations: When employee is assigned to out-of-town location, employer will pay $15 for breakfast; $25 (previously $20) for lunch; $30 for dinner.
