Renewal agreement: Effective June 17, 2020 to June 17, 2023. Ratified on June 17, 2020. Signed on June 29, 2020.
Shift premium: $1 per hour for all shift work starting between 8 p.m. and midnight (to be classified as shift work rather than overtime, shifts must be scheduled for at least 3 consecutive work days).
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 6% of employee’s total gross wages, paid each pay period with employee’s regular pay. All employees with reasonable notice may request time off for vacation.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular hours Monday through Sunday. Time and one-half for all work after 44 hours per week or 88 hours every 2 weeks when CWW (compressed work week) arrangement is implemented. May be taken as straight-time rate pay, with remainder as time off or fully banked and taken as time off (must be used with 6 months of end of pay period in which they earned it).
Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2 per hour into Electrical Industry Insurance Benefit Trust Fund of Alberta.
Pension: Employer will contribute 5% of basic hourly wages to RRSP plan registered in employee’s name.
Probationary period: 3 months from date of hire.
Safety shoes: Employees will report for work equipped with safety boots (CSA-approved, grade 1 (green triangle), in good condition, at least 6 inches high from sole of boot).
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide safety glasses and flash glasses (non-prescription); hearing protection; respirator; hard hat; voltage detector/sniffer; appropriate work gloves. Employer will provide adequately fitting protective clothing where acids, chemicals, grease, dust, fibers prevail. Fire retardant coveralls will be provided where required
Tool allowance: Employer will supply all power tools, instruments, other tools, including appropriate toolboxes for storage of such tools.

Editor’s notes: Industry fund: Employer will contribute $0.12 per hour for all regular hours worked into electrical contractors industry fund. Training: When manager requests employee to participate in training and it is manager’s opinion that training is job requirement, employer will pay for tuition, required texts. When training is requested by employee, employee can claim 50% of tuition cost, required texts on expense claim.
