Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2020. Signed on July 10, 2018.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.7%
Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.75%
Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2%
Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 2 floater days at Christmas or New Year’s, scheduled between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31.
Vacations with pay: 20 days after 1 year, 25 days after 10 years, 30 days after 20 years. Maximum 10 days per year may be carried over into following year.
Overtime: 1-hour compensatory time for every hour worked after 35 hours per week (will be paid out within 3 months). Time and one-half for all work after 40 hours per week.
Medical benefits: Employer will provide $1,205 per year for health spending account.
Dental: Coverage includes basic plan, periodontics/endodontics.
Vision: $300 every 24 months.
Paramedical: $600 per year for physiotherapy, massage therapy, osteopaths, podiatrists, naturopaths, chiropractic services, psychologists.
Sick leave: 1 day per month to start; 10 days per year after 3 months; 15 days per year after 1 year; 20 days per year after 5 years; 30 days per year after 10 years.
AD&D: Coverage of 2 times annual salary, rounded to next $1,000, maximum $200,000.
Life insurance: Coverage of 2 times annual salary, rounded to next $1,000, maximum $200,000.
Pension: All employees who work 32 hours per week will become member of OMERS contributory DB pension plan financed by equal contributions from participating employers and employees.
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, significant other, child, parent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepchildren, stepbrother, step-sister). 3 days for death in other family (mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, grandchild, former guardian (maximum 2), aunt, uncle, niece, nephew). 2 additional days if necessary for travelling, when distance is significant (no time allotted for travel less than 1.5 hours, 1 way).
Seniority – recall rights: 24 months.
Probationary period: 9 months of active service (6 months of active service for support staff).
Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years.
Mileage: $0.535 per kilometre (previously $0.53 per kilometre). Effective April 1, 2020: $0.54 per kilometre.
