Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025. Signed July 4, 2023.
Shift premium: $0.70 per hour for all hours worked on afternoon or night shift (between 2 p.m. and 6 a.m.). $0.65 per hour (previously $0.55 per hour) on all hours worked between Friday 10 p.m. and Sunday 10 p.m.
Paid holidays: 14 days, including 1 lieu day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Vacations with pay: 1 day per month to start, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 25 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all overtime work after regularly scheduled shift or 80 hours in biweekly pay period.
Meal allowance: $8 when employee works 10 consecutive hours or more.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums.
Vision: $350 every 24 months (previously $285 every 24 months).
Paramedical: $2,000 (previously $1,000) combined benefit for speech pathologist, physiotherapy, chiropractor, registered massage therapy.
Sick leave: 1 day per month.
Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 1.5 times annual salary, maximum $75,000.
Pension: Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS).
Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of wife, husband, partner, child, grandchild, parent, sister, brother. 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. 2 days for death of grandmother, grandfather. 1 day for death of aunt, uncle.
Seniority – recall rights: 30 months after layoff.
Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of work at overtime rate.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for letters of reprimand.
Safety shoes: Employer will supply 1 pair of safety shoes to personnel designated by employer and will replace shoes as required.
Uniforms/clothing: $200 per year for full-time employees actively at work, paid in 2 installments of $100 in May and November each year; $0.10 per hour for part-time employees for employees who are required to wear uniforms.

Editor’s notes: Standby duty: $2 per hour for all hours of such duty, even if employee is recalled to work and paid appropriate overtime rate. RPN allowance: $10 for each shift when registered nurse is absent from normal shift and employer temporarily assigns registered practical nurse to carry out some additional responsibilities of absent registered nurse for more than 1 half-shift.
