Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2023. Signed on Dec. 1, 2019.

Wage adjustments:

Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2022: 2%

Effective Jan. 1, 2023: 2%

Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for all hours worked for any shift that begins or ends between 6 p.m. in 1 day and 5 a.m. on following day. $0.35 per hour for hours worked performing dirty work. $0.50 per hour for employee who acts as level 2 first-aid attendant (attendant will also receive $500 bonus upon successful completion of first-aid course plus additional $750 bonus after serving full 3-year term as attendant, immediately following completion of course).

Paid holidays: 12 days.

Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month to start, 10 day after 10 months, 105 hours after 1 year, 140 hours after 8 years, 175 hours after 17 years, 210 hours after 21 years for employees working 35 hours per week. 1.5 days per month to start, 10 day after 10 months, 112.5 hours after 1 year, 150 hours after 8 years, 187.5 hours after 17 years, 225 hours after 21 years for employees working 37.5 hours per week. 1.5 days per month to start, 10 day after 10 months, 120 hours after 1 year, 160 hours after 8 years, 200 hours after 17 years, 240 hours after 21 years for employees working 40 hours per week.

Overtime: Time and one-half for work on employee’s normal work day; double time after 2 hours of overtime. Double time on employee’s days of rest. Employees may consider paid time off in lieu of worked overtime. Unused banked time will be paid out once yearly at time to be determined by employer.

Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for B.C. Medical Services Plan.

Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 100% coverage for basic dental services; 60% of fees, annual maximum $750; lifetime maximum $4,000 for prosthetics, crowns and bridges; 50% of fees, maximum lifetime limit $2,000 for orthodontics.

AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums.

Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (child, stepchild, parents, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchild, stepparent, foster-child, foster-parent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, fiancée, employee’s son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law). 2) additional days leave for death of spouse, parent, child, stepchild. One half-day to attend funeral as pallbearer.

Seniority – recall rights: 1 year after layoff; 36 months when employee is absent from work because of sickness or accident.

Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours or work or 2 hours of pay at double time. Double time if employee who, before end of normal day’s work returns to work within 2 hours following end of normal day’s work (but not considered call-in).

Probationary period: 3 months.

Safety shoes: $150 every 24 months for employee who is required to wear approved footwear and has greater than 1 year of service.

Accounting clerk 1/clerk steno 1 RCMP/clerk typist administration: $24.25 rising 1 step to $24.74

Summer tax clerk: $26.94 rising 1 step to $27.48

Data clerk: $26.40 rising 1 step to $26.93

Museum assistant: $27.76 rising 1 step to $28.32

Development services clerk: $27.35 rising 1 step to $27.90

Electric utility clerk: $28.84 rising 1 step to $29.42

Procurement clerk/rod person: $30.37 rising 1 step to $30.98

Facilities maintenance/parks maintenance 1 (labourer)/works maintenance 1 (labourer): $22.51 rising 1 step to $22.96

Integrated pest mgmt. technician: $26.99 rising 1 step to $27.53

Parks maintenance 3: $28.47 rising 1 step to $29.04

Sign maintenance: $29.94 rising 1 step to $30.54

Bylaw enforcement officer 1/compost operator: $30.36 rising 1 step to $30.97

Editor’s notes: Standby (on call): 2 hours’ pay for each normal work day on which employee was on call and also worked regular 8-hours shift; 3 hours’ pay for each day of rest or statutory holiday on which employee was on call. 1 hour at double time if employee carries out nightly snow checks while on standby.
