Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 11, 2019 to Feb. 28, 2021. Ratified on Aug. 8, 2019. Signed on Aug. 8, 2019.
Wage adjustments:
Effective Aug. 11, 2019: 2%
Effective March 1, 2020: 2%
Shift premium: $2 per hour worked as relief for first cook assigned to relieve chef.
Paid holidays: 11 days.
Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 6 months, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years.
Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week.
Medical benefits: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Dental: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums. Coinsurance of 80% for routine basic services; 50% for major procedures, combined maximum $2,000 per person per year. Coinsurance of 50% for orthodontics for children younger than 19, lifetime maximum of $1,500. Recall exams 1 every 5 months, maximum 2 per year.
Vision: 100% coverage, maximum $300 in any 12-month period for person under 19; every 24 months for any other person.
LTD: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
AD&D: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Life insurance: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employee pays 30% of premiums.
Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, life-partner, mother, father, brother, sister, children, stepparents, stepchild, stepsister, stepbrother, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren).
Seniority – recall rights: 150 days (seniority will accrue during this period).
Probationary period: 60 days worked.
Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year from incident giving rise to discipline.
Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide, free of charge to employees, safety supplies, articles of clothing and footwear which are deemed necessary for employee’s safety and health. Employer will provide winter clothing, winter footwear to employees who work outside on continuous basis. Employer will supply suitable seasonal protective clothing for unloading of supplies.
Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase):
First cook: $23.61 rising 2 steps to $24.56
Second cook: $19.71 rising 2 steps to $20.50
Night cook/baker: $23.61 rising 2 steps to $24.56
General helper: $19.09 rising 2 steps to $19.86
Room attendant: $19.09 rising 2 steps to $19.86
Signing bonus: Employees on payroll, as of Aug. 8, 2019, will receive 1-time signing bonus of $250, less statutory deductions. Employees on layoff, with recall rights, will receive signing bonus upon return to work.
